I like Plums. It's close though.

pears
when i was little we used to pick a wild plum that was tart but heavenly sweet at the same time,and that has been my IDEAL that I hold all plums to.which means that Im ruined for what passes for plums in the store.mostly they are rubbery tastless balls.
pears however can be ripened easily once you get them, and we have a large variety to choose from.
there is nothing better than a crisp on the outside, soft on the inside,sweet ,grainy,drippy yummy pear.like eating sunshine with honey on it.

I prefer plums, they seem to have a sweeter and jucier flavor to them than do pears. But you are right, it is close.
