Jesus did make an excuse for his followers when they broke the Sabbath. (maybe he was worried about loosing these 12 country bumpkins who he was able to scrounge up to follow him).
But Jesus did not break the Sabbath himself (in that episode of his students picking grain).
In fact, Jesus himself says that anyone who changes the law will be least in the kingdom of heaven.
As the new religion of Christianity was formed in Gentile communities in Syria and Asia Minor, it infused Greek and Egyptian religious concepts, and at the same time evolved to where performing commandments were "no longer required"... Even those very few that Paul originally recommended in "Acts" like not eating meat without all the blood drained, etc.
This process of shedding Jewish characteristics started in the 1st century with Paul, but really got radical in the 2 and 3 centuries. So that by Nicea, Jesus was a man-god, born of a virgin, etc.
The Christian Bible paints Jesus as a guy who gets nastier and nastier after not getting what he wants - to be recognized as a great rabbi. He was a second-rate teacher with an ego problem - he was mean to his mom and to his students and he made fun of the learned of Israel.

I've never gotten a good answer as to why the Old Testament only applies for some things, but not all. Jesus stated numerous times in the New Testament that he came to fulfill the laws and they still apply (Matthew 5:18 and Luke 16:17 are examples). Then Jesus turns around and says it's okay to work on the Sabbath and that the Pharisees are wrong to focus too heavily on the laws. It's all contradictory. I agree, though, that the New Testament was written by people trying to make Jesus look divine. Then, the books that contradicted the most flattering books, the four gospels, were dismissed as blasphemy and banned. That's why I find gnostic texts so fascinating. They tell another side to the story.

This is a good question.
What one needs to realize is that when interpreting the Bible
context is very important.
If you take verse out of context, you will walk away with a completely different meaning, than it was intended, to mean.
Turn the other cheek is in context with ...insulting words.
If some one were to call you a name, just turn the other cheek,
there is no harm done., That's the context of the whole passage. Jesus knew Christan's would be insulted for their
beliefs, as is evident on this forum. He basically said, forget it, turn the other cheek, these people words do no harm.,
On the other hand, the eye for an eye, Means the punishment should fit the crime,.
For example, A murderer should be given the Death Penalty, not 5 years in Jail

I don't think so ...What ever you want to call the son of man or the son of God ...I prefer Emanuel (God with us) The way I see it in the old testament the Prophets predicted Christs birth and his death and res erection..In the new testament things change.Because of His coming he brought new hope and a new face to the ones who believed ..Man no longer had to atone himself as they did before hand. No more animal sacrifices or rituals are needed....It's more about relationship and following God's plan for you (his will)..
Wouldn't you think that progress in the NT would be needed for the existence of man and the understanding of purpose ?The circumstance now has to change to move forward God's will and purpose are leads to the end of all ages and the restoration of all things..And in the cycle of life many changes occur .. they happen in the natural and it tells some of some events that are happening in the spiritual dimension So why shouldn't principals and understanding change also? To draw us closer to him and the freedom to bring the close to this life for believers as we know it?,,,,,,,The Sabbath is in your heart and we should be walking in it daily.....
Depending on what translation you read yes I believe there's some distortions in some of the newer ones but that would be the sign of the times and the fact that some walk in the flesh and not in the spirit of God..... I tend to stick with the King James version because I feel that it is the closest to being pure! The most important thing is relationship and reliance on God and not just His word..After all there were no bibles to read for many generations..They lived by faith alone!

You should have not put Christians in your title as obviously no Christians would think that. Also at the time Jesus was thought of as a Jewish blasphemer, and well they had a decent reason to. Mainly because messiah claimants were everywhere in that time, but Jesus has a wealth of information about him and quickly got a wealth of followers, so I conclude that Jesus was not your average everyday Messiah claimant. From there you may either say he was a great speaker that could get people to his cause, or the Son of God. As a Christian I lean towards the second.

Jesus was one of the very few men given the authority to reinterpret [not do away with] the divine law. Just as Buddha reinterpreted Hindu Dharma. Or just as Guru Nanak reinterpreted Dharma AND sharia.
e.g. rather than doing away with the sabbath, he taught us the real meaning of it: that EVERY DAY should be a sabbath. i.e. a day of devotion to God. hence the healing stories.

Jesus was just a jewish blasphemer ONLY in the eyes of some jewish people.
Jesus Christ is a messiah and my Savior.
Are some of jews still waiting for their messiah until now since they didn't acknowledge Jesus as a messiah?

Jesus gave us the new covenant. He is the way and the truth and the life. He was a Jew, but He does not ask us to be Jews. He asks us to follow Him and share His gospel to everybody and to baptize people in the name of The Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

this was because Jesus came to fulfil the law....Jesus IS the word of God.....how can he change when he in fact is what has been voiced by GOD...you have been deceived about Christ...why do you think that is...because Jesus is the only way to God...and satan will fight every step of the way to keep you from receiving the Truth...

If you truely want to know the answer to your questions, I suggest you get up tomorrow morning and pray asking the Lord to lead you to the right Bible believing church. In fact I will pray that for you right now! Any questions you don't get the answers to in church tomorrow, you could always ask in a counseling session with the pastor later in the week.
If you don't really want the answers, stop asking them in a place where you really won't get them.
