jellicleop and fuzzy are giving you the truth.
a place of fiery torment is another lie of Satan the Devil.
NEVER did it come into Jehovah's heart, for such a place.
If ya like to think of it as such, think about this.....
hell= the common grave of mankind.
Once you r in your grave, u r conscious of nothing at all,
then u could liken that to hell...not seeing your loved ones, not seeing your children grow-up, graduate high school, go on to college, walk ur daughters down the aisle to be married, not see your grandchildren walking, not hearing the beautiful words from the babies' mouth... I love you papa.... or not, hearing and seeing the pure joy on the little face as she goes squealing down the hallway w/ laughter, yellin' "I gotta run!" cuz grandpa is chasing her.
Now, that's what u could call hell.
Now, that would be hell

First of all the bible states that we that were once human and that have passed away are not in Hell, but the state of mere sleep until the day of judgement. None of my ancestors are in Hell and are being tortured by GOD. If you ask me,we are not at all, perfect . We are here in this world with carnal minds and carnal thoughts. All I can hope for is that, any ancestorss I may lay mind to was at peace with the Lord and had accepted them into their lives before their death. I cannot dwell on whether their acceptance of the Lord was in their hearts before their death, I must concern myself with," if I am". And if so, help bring as many to know the Lord as I do. And another thing the bible tells not to judge... Sounds to me that you are being judmental toward God , if your asking the question as you did about the ancestors. Dear, I would seriously think that you need to understand the truth a little more before you start judging the Lord and his doings or things he hasn't done.

Hell is being banished from the presence of Heavenly Father and all the benefits that come it. Is hell really torture or is the classic view of hell just a fabrication from the mind of the author Dante.
The truth of it is that what really goes on is far too complicated to go over in just one answer session. It involves the pre-beginning of our mortal world to day of judgment and beyond if you want to chat look me up on yahoo or talk to a Mormon missionary.

No dead human being is suffering torture in any kind of hell anywhere.

The Bible teaches that the dead are sinless, unconscious.

Those that believe that the Lake of Fire and Gehenna are such places of torment should make an effort to study this:

Thankfully, I know the truth from God's word the Bible about the condition of the dead. Ecclesiastes 9:5 says they are conscious of nothing at all. I know that many of my forebears had no opportunity to gain accurate knowledge from the Bible and thus repent from their sins and dedicate their lives to God. They did the best they could with the little knowledge that was available to them. Our merciful heavenly Father would never torture someone for that. No, they are peacefully asleep in death until the resurrection. At such time they will be given the opportunity to gain accurate knowledge and apply it. (Acts 24:15)

Of course we think about that.... but I'm sure most of us vision our loved one's in the Heavens with God....therefore hell does not enter our minds. We have the Holy Spirit in us, to Comfort us during times such as that.

God judges us by the light we have had and how we have behaved. I DON'T believe that animists, Budhists, Hindus, Jews, Muslims, Sikhs etc. are necessarily in hell. Any religion provides enough light for one to be closer to God. Btw all Hell means is a state of spiritual separation from God... it is NOT a place; especially not one of hellfire and brimstone.

Personally, if any of my relatives chose to reject God and choose death over life, I would be saddened yes. I could do nothing to change the judgement they've set for themselves. God gives us all the same choice. God or satan. Life or death. Heaven or hell. For me and my family we choose God and Jesus, so we obviously are trying to reach Heaven. Hope to see YOU there too! God Bless You.

I don't think about it--people burning in Hades, Moises:

In fact, the Hell you are speaking about is a fabrication baptized in the early church from Greek Mythology; Purgatory also falls into this category.

The temperature of the biblical hell-fire exceeds 2,000 degrees--that is what crematoriums reach to disintegrate a corpse.

You see, Moises, the wages of sin is death, not eternal dying or punishing. It is only the righteous who live through eternity.

I have watched how God works in peoples lives trying to draw them with cords of love to the truths of His ways. "My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge..." says the Lord. And those who "hunger and thirst for righteousness shall be filled."

That is why God sealed a Bible code for the "end of the days." It is one last attempt to reorient them to facts and refute fallacies. It was designed for the intelligent; in fact, says: The Wise Shall Understand. Break the code at http://abiblecode.tripod.com

hO QEOS AGAPE ESTIN, "God is love." (1 John 4:8)

God doesn't torture anyone. Jesus, the "Image of the invisible God" doesn't torture anyone either.

"Hell" as Hades means simply the common grave.

"Hell" as Gehenna is a symbol of complete destruction (not torment).
