In 1945, America dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki killing 250,000 innocent people. I am an American Muslim who condemns terrorism but I am tired of having my entire religion bashed because Americans think that they are innocent. You expect me to oppologize for the terrorist, well NO I won't because I am not a terrorist. I will not appoligize for the sins of others. If I knew how to stop them I would, but I don't. Why do you insist on blaming the Islamic religion when it is a small group of radicalists?

ProudMuslimah, they do not even know who planted the bomb yet...it has not been connected with Islam except that last night someone posted on an Islamic website about London. This posting was AFTER the plot was foiled. It may not be Islamic radicals, so do not point the finger until you know who is to blame.

I am not saying that these so called Islamic radicalists are not guilty of terrorism also, but I am tired of people thinking that all terrorism that has occurred in this world is due to Islam becuase it's not.

JediMaster: you should go to college campuses in which Muslim groups hand out pamplets, have meetings and talk to others about Islam and what it is about, and what it is not about.

Jan Stolz: How do we stop the radicals from attacking when they are in hiding do their planning in seclusion? If we knew their plans or where they were, then we could try to stop them but we don't know anything about what they. What should we do? Kill all of the salafee (most bombings are done by salafee)...that's not fair because not all of them are guilty? How do you expect regular people to find these terrorists when the US can't even find Osama bin Laden?

Craig R: you don't know about the Qur'an apparently. The Qur'an calls Muslims, Christians and Jews Ahlul Kitaab which means people of the book. The people that are supposed to be converted are called kafir (non-believers). If this is a matter, then why would the terrorists not be attacking India which are mostly Hindus...

Unfortunately what you have to say will mostly fall on deaf ears as it is easier for those in this forum to blame all Muslims rather than using their brains to seek the truth. I am an American Christian yet I do not blindly accept all the crap being spoon fed to us by the media. I actually use my brain and seek the truth for myself. I sure don't see any of them getting off their butts and protesting the mindless decisions those in our govt. make or trying to do anything to stop it yet they seem to expect you and a handful of Muslims to go seek out the terrorists on your own when as you said our own govt. can't seem to do that. It is much easier for these people to place blame on an entire religion (as is often done to Christians in the forum) for the actions of a few rather than admit they just might be wrong.

Dear Muslima. A'asalam aliakum. If I may maybe you should reconsider and say something against the terrorists. I myself condemn the bombings and killings of innocents and I do not remain silent. Remember, the media is going to blame Islam and Muslims as the cause instead of blaming the real culprit and that is terrorists that claim to be Muslim. And the media is doing a wonderful job in its propaganda because so many people believe it is Islam and Muslims that are to blame. I believe moderate Muslims should stand up and say that it is not permitted to kill innocents. In a way you would be defending the faith, your voice needs to be heard.

Don't take this the wrong way, but why hasn't your religion taken any steps to try and stop the extremeists? If they truly do not represent your religion, then why are they not thrown out of it?
And just to get a little history straight, America asked Japan numerious times to surrender before either of the bombs were dropped. Japan stated they'd fight the Americans to the last man woman and child before surrendering (even though the war was lost.) To avoid an even larger spilling of blood by invading the country (estimated into the millions) it was decided to drop the bomb. It is the Japanese Military Complex you should blame, not the US.

Somebody isn't reading their Koran. If you're not killing or forcibly converting the infidels, then what are you doing?
You say "I am tired of having my entire religion bashed because Americans think that they are innocent." Are you implying that terrorist attacks against the US are justified because of some action of the US? Is it not simply the goal of Islam to clear the earth of Jews, Christians, and polytheists of all kinds? Are you saying that our lack of "innocence" is just because we are predominantly Christian?
As far as the Hiroshima example, did you read the part where the Japanese started a war against us with an unprovoked attack on Pearl Harbor? Do you know what the casualties would have been on both sides had the US taken the war to the Japanese on their own turf? Do you know how many US soldiers were killed by Japanese and would be killed if the war continued? Do you value Japanese lives more highly than US lives?
You may not be a terrorist, but the Islamic terrorists who currently are in an unprovoked war agaisnt the west are only acting on their deeply held religious convictions.

Well, I agree with you, to an extent. I'm an American Christian, and I don't blame all Muslims for the actions of a few.
However, terrorism CANNOT be equated with what happened at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. They were warned beforehand. They had a choice. Was it terrible? Oh, YES. But how many more civilians would have died if we had just fought them on the island? EVERYONE was being encouraged to take up arms in Japan. We would have not only been fighting the Japanese military, but the civilians as well.
I wish there had been another way. Maybe there would have been, if we had really tried to find one. But we weren't really trying. Americans were ANGRY. And our anger was taken out on the Japanese...who attacked us first, remember? Pearl Harbor? We weren't even considering fighting them before that.

Intentionally planting a bomb in a market full of innocent people is being a terrorist.
Dropping two atomic bombs, although horrible, actually caused far less deaths than the alternative.
And if you have money to wager, I would put a substantial amount on the fact that when they catch the guys in London, they are Muslim. I would take that bet every time and you KNOW that I would win it most of the time.
For whatever reason Islam supports what those guys are doing. I am not saying it is 100% but Hamas can draw 100,000 at their rallies and the peace rallies that I have seen have a couple of hundred. Until it looks like there is a serious effort to get it to stop you are all going to be lumped together just because the terrorists are saying they are speaking for you, and there is almost no voice saying they aren't.

Dropping the atomic bomb on Japan was a strategic act of war. Truman thought that the loses of American lives to invade the main island of Japan were too great and he made the right decision to drop the bombs.
Terrorism is not done by an act of war. Terrorism is a violent act perpetrated by a group against a nation or another group to serve the means to an end. If another nation did this instead of fundamentalists, then it would be an act of war not terrorism.
You may not be a terrorist, but many of your faith are. Islam teaches the opposite of other faiths, exclusion and racism based on faith. You are kidding yourself if you believe otherwise. Religion of peace, right......
Maybe all of Islam is not like this, but it sure looks that way to me. By the way, who decided to fly a plane into a building in New York? The Christians? Or do you want to blame the Jews? Muslims think that their shortcoming are everyone elses fault. Yet they keep the Mullahs and Kings in power who subjugate their lives.

Your looking at this through biased eyes. Although it was horrible what happened it ended the war. It stopped an invasion. That does not mean America is free from problems. We did have Christians blowing up abortion clinics. The big difference between American's and Muslims is we are fighting to stop terrorism. Muslims are just allowing it to happen. If you don't like that be a leader and tell everyone. Don't let people of your faith stand idle while people kill innocent women, men, and children in the name of Islam.
Is that clear enough for you?
Terrorism all in the name of an imaginary being. Talk about delusional.

The Islamic religion is a good and peaceful religion that has been perverted and twisted by some very evil people. It is a very sad thing that your religion is being painted as evil due to the actions of a few. However it is also up to you as a Muslim to show what your religion is really all about.
The American government has made mistakes now and in the past, but we have never attacked another country for any reason other than to protect ourselves and we make every effort to avoid casualities of innocent civilians. This is quite different from the terrorists who are killing every person that is not like them because they are "infidels."

Don't blame either side: Both sides of this spectrum have people in their groups that don't make the best decisions.
Yes: Some people from the middle east have attacked us, BUT:
Yes: It's morally inhumane and prejudice to generalize all people of middle eastern descent (Or whom are Islamic) as being terrorists.
Obviously there's a difference between physical action and psychological sensitivity, but both of these cases are terrorism.
