Catch a little misunderstanding before it snowballs. A little extra attention to what's being said, how they're reacting and even body language makes it easy to spot and easy to handle.

Look for a time where you are with him just the two of you. Then tell him what you really feel, tell him that it makes you feel really nice to know that he loves you, but that you don't love him back and you just see him as a great friend. Then tell him how great of a person he is, and remind him that there are still a lot of girls that would love to have someone like him. You have to let him know this soon, if you keep waiting it will just hurt him more. So talk to him, and good luck!

Ok, maybe try to let him realise that he should find someone else.
Instead of saying something like - I don't love you like that, I only see you as a friend, maybe try asking him questions, and let him come to the answer himself.
Go through stuff you've done together as friends, and let him see how great the friendship is, and maybe he will realise that you are better off as friends.
But it's only effective if you let him come to the conclusion, otherwise he may not be pursuaded....

Well I think that you need to tell him and then move on. I mean people have a tendency to say one thing but act another way. And you may be doing this and not Even know it. If you have told him that you do not like him in that way and he is not excepting that then you need to break all ties because maybe in his mind he is thinking that you hanging around him he still has a chance.

It is better that he knows how you feel then for you to lead him on and then for him to find out the truth. But tell him just that. Tell him what you think of him-that he is a very decent guy and I'm sure you do love him, but you don't love him in the same way as he does for you.

Level with the guy. Tell him you like him as a friend and that is as far as the relationship goes on your side.

I would ask for help from someone that helps people with depression and tell him that you just want to be friends
