extraordinary amount of Muslim bashing going on here and blaming all Muslims for the actions of a few. Do you really feed into the media that much and have they taken control of your brains? Most Muslims abhor the actions of these terrorists as much as the rest of the world and in this forum many Muslims openly despise their actions. There are many Muslim countries that have absolutely nothing to do with the terrorists and the terrorists are not from every Muslim country. There is also so much condemnation for the Islamic faith because of the actions of the few. The foundation of the Islamic faith is much like the Christian faith in that it teaches love, peace, good will, charity, etc. Any religious sect intent on committing such horrific acts in the name of God is going to take scriptures from their holy book and use it to justify their actions. When are you ignorant people going to realize you cannot blame an entire religious community for the actions of a few?

Gunilla I happen to be a Christian. I do have some Muslim friends and I know they do not condone the terrorists actions.

Ismail Eliat: Thank you for the link. I starred that question so my contacts might see it and understand the Muslim's view of the terrorists acts.

For those of you who cannot read: I am a Christian and also an American so please stop assuming otherwise. Is it that difficult for you to believe someone other than a Muslim sees so much ignorance regarding this issue?

Its all the MEDIA!

The Western Media has caused the west to believe in their point of view, and only giving one side of the story blinds the people viewing: that is almost everybody. The Media has forced its viewers to believe that Islam is a violent, bloody, intolerant religion, but in reality this is actually the opposite. If people would stop accepting their television sets as their teachers, more people would know the actual truth about Islam. The Media reports misleading stories, gross exaggerations, inaccurate information, and false statements about Islams and Muslims to undermine the religion, and unfortunately, this propaganda is a success--many many Americans believe everything they hear on the news or read in the newspaper. What they fail to realize is that what they read/hear is only one point of view of a bias Media that has been criticizing Muslims with false information vigorously since 9/11.

Terrorism is CONDEMNED in Islam; it is not allowed. Neither is innocent murder, or forced conversions. These are all misleading fabrications composed by the Media. You can't always believe what you hear.

Terrorists are not true Muslims; they use Islam as a mask to cover up their dirty work, and give Islam a bad name. It is not fair for the majority of Muslims, who oppose terrorism and denounce violence that is occurring. Unfortunately, the Media will never let this be known, making it look like Muslims support these radical actions, when in reality they absolutely do not.

Please refer to the following video. It is very true, and will provide valuable insight; I strongly recommend watching it:

Bllalalala blaaablalblablaa blablabla blabbla

Most muslims abhor the terrorists actions? Some counties have noting to do with them? I have NEVER seen any muslim openly and publicly (except for those hiding behind the computer screen here) condemn the actions of the ‘few’ terrorists muslims. Has there ever been anyone on the TV? Nope. Anyone on the radio? Nope. Newspaper? Nope. Even a friggin leaflet handed out in the parking lot of a grocery store or theater??? NO. The standing up and condemning department seems to be grossly understaffed…

Am I prejudice against muslims? Probably a little, in truth a lot.

“The foundation of the Islamic faith is much like the Christian faith in that it teaches love, peace, good will, charity, etc” I haven’t seen much of this from the Christian’s either, bad example…

So everyone is ignorant now because we don’t see the world as you do???
There’s a friggin surprise…

I wouldn’t bet that any time soon the US is going to forgive and forget the actions of the ‘few’, and if the ‘few’ continue with their actions they are going to get the entire world PO’ed. What will happen then? Well not every country has ‘innocent until proven guilty’ like the US does…

EDIT

so I see how you muslims are going to fight now, with the almighty THUMBS DOWN!!!

way to go!!! take the path of the least possible outcome...

I blame it on the news...For example right now they just stopped some bombs in London, and they don't know who did it. It has not been released who the suspect is, or what race they are, yet the Yahoo news story starts talking about a website that some Jihadist has posted that mentions London (which was not in the first story so it may have been posted after the plot to bomb London was already foiled). It doesn't matter what it is, the news always ties in bombs with Muslims. As a Muslim, I know that this is against Islam, but the news (especially FOX) reports any terrorism as Islamic radicals even if they don't know who is involved. People need to ask a Muslim for answers, not watch biased television.

EDIT: Soul Shaper, I'm an American Muslim, so do you really think that I bash my own country? And how do you expect Muslims to take care of terrorists who hide their faces? You act as though we know what is going to happen. We don't know the terrorists and in the Middle East, if the terrorists are caught before they blow themselves up, they are hung. And as for Muslim televisions stations, have you ever even watched ArabSat? It's not biased. It just shows the truth which is hard for people to accept because it shows what people don't like to see.

There's actually surprisingly little condemnation from Muslims about the terrorist attacks and recent polls and surveys show that a huge percentage of Muslims agree with the terrorists aims if not their means. When you consider that all of the world's religious conflicts involve Muslims on at least one side and that their koran and hadith explicitly advocate the murder of non-Muslims, you can understand how many are just waking up to the truth in the West.

I agree 100%. My best friend in middle school came from a Muslim family. While it's a different religion to me I don't see how you can generalize a whole religious group or country as being 'bad' or 'evil.' I knew her before 9/11 and still speak to her now. Her family is not the best and her father is not the kindest but you cannot say that just because HER Muslim family does something or has problems that EVERY Muslim family is that way. I think people just like to stereotype because it makes them feel safe.

On the flip-side. Muslims bash Americans as well. I believe that the Muslim agenda is hurting their own. Why don't Muslims take care of the ones that are terrorist? They need to be kicked out of the religion.

The propaganda that Muslim countries spread is just as damaging. They teach hate in the schools. Why is that? Other Muslim countries have their own agenda as well. Many don't allow American influence. The news that is aired in Muslim countries is biased.

We can blame an entire religious community for the same reason that community hates Americans. Before 9/11 I had no feelings one way or the other against Muslims or their religion. However after watching news and interviews of Muslims (and to a person they stated they were glad the WTC came down) I decided I could indeed hate a race of people and their religion.

It would seem that you've bought into the media and/or your own limited sample set. I suspect that there different sentiments ranging from rage at all Muslims to rage against just the terrorist in different segments of society (or societies).

Not all muzzies are terrorists, however, 95% of terrorism is conducted by muzzies. I read all media...including your Al Jazeera. How many Budhists have blown themselves up on buses or trains filled with civilians? I could go on and on....

Well gee whiz... If, in fact, most Muslims abhor the actions of the terrorist then why don't they more vigorously condemn those actions? "By their fruits you shall know them" It is by actions that I judge people and it has been my observation that by and large Muslims are the most backward intolerant people on the planet. It is very hard to have any kind of sympathy for a culture that practices female circumcision (mutilation), honor killings, over the top disrespect and intolerance of *any* other religion (including their own) You can claim "Religion of Peace" all day long, but when actions are in diametric opposition to those claims it is hard for one to take them seriously.
