find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

I would suggest a cleansing diet. I lost 12 pounds in 9 days and then 28 pounds in less than a month. I also lost a lot of inches too! I learned that cleansing will help the body get rid of impurities. Impurities come from a lot of things like fast food, pollution, food additives and preservatives and lots of other things. The impurities get stored in the fat in our body. To get rid of the fat, we have to get rid of the impurities by cleansing the body. This made sense to me and I decided to try a cleanse program and it worked. The weight came off fast and this kept me motivated to keep going, not like other diets where the weight loss it too slow. I did Jenny Craig, Weight Watcher and Medifast. If you want to learn more call the toll free number 1-877-587-4647 or check out the website. This was the first time I ever did a cleanse, it was easy and I feel better. Good luck whatever you decide to do! http://diet4cleansing.com

If you are still breast feeding, it will be more difficult to lose the weight since your body wants to hold onto it for that reason.
Have you tried getting in some exercise everyday? I know it can be hard with a baby (I have a 2 yr old) and have struggled myself with this. I joined the local YMCA with some friends to motivate me and I have committed myself to getting a least a walk (outside & sometimes at the mall on rainy/cold days) to keep moving.
Don't give up and try to find some other moms in your area to get together with. Maybe you could all walk/meet at a park or something for a few hours a few times every week.

I found that when I breastfed my two babies, I lost weight fast. I was never the "quick to lose" weight type.
Perhaps you are consuming too much food and sugared products to cope with the lack of sleep.
Try changing your diet. My diet enabled me to lose14 kg in a year.
