I don't know about young girls, but mature women would love to meet a non-drinker. Their biggest dread is getting hooked up with a heavy drinker.
Bars suck, they're noisy and smoke-filled; not great places for conversation. There must be better places to meet people.

I agree with you about the smells of pubs and the stale alcohol.
Here in Australia, at last, the pubs have been declared smoke free and will be nicer.
I too am a non-drinker and always used other places and means to meet people. The clubs I belong to, the fire brigade (I am a volunteer), weekly bike riding, on transport, at the pool or gym.
All these places are opportunities to meet and know new people.
Try and see....

I don't drink either so I know exactly where you're coming from. Don't look at it as a negative though--your peers who are getting drunk every weekend are missing out on their lives. I'm so much happier sober than I ever was while drinking. It's been 2 years for me.
As for your question--that's tough. I pretty much look at it this way: Do you really WANT to meet your next girlfriend/boyfriend in a bar or club? Seriously, the people you meet there are generally not worth your time.
I figure you can meet someone new anywhere you go, so just look at it that way. Sounds odd, I know, but singles are everywhere--grocery stores, churches, etc. Just be confident and introduce yourself to people.

Eww...don't meet people at bars. While some of them can be ok...most of the folks who go to bars are just there to meet people because they can't find anyone anywhere else.
Go try other places like the gym, the park, the library, anywhere where other folks hang out. Don't go into it trying to find a girl...just go look for a friend then let it go from there.
It's not something that you're going to be able to do instantly...no relationship works well unless it's taken time to develop.
Good luck.

Bars are not the best way to find girls, really. Ask your friends to introduce you to any single women that they know. Go to Bible study groups or to church and see if there is anyone there that looks single. Try the local bookstore or coffee shop, and offer to buy a girl a coffee and have a chat with her. Chances are, you'll find a much better match in those situations than going to bars.

Hi friend, do not worry thinking that you are a non-drinker and you do not like its taste, smell, after effects etc.... Some how you will find a girl and marry her, it is sure.... and do not worry... after sometime of your marriage... you will definitely start drinking.... so why not start drinking from today and get a girl at the earliest?

Kan,
You do not have to drink no matter where you go. I am a recovering alcoholic and I go and do anything I want to and never have a problem with the ladies. Truth be said most women don't care if you drink or not and most prefer you didn't.

If you drink a soda or juice, it shouldn't look awkward. If anyone asks, say you enjoy the music but don' drink alcohol. You may be surprised how many women that don't drink go to bars to hang out.

I met my boyfriend in a sign language class. I was lucky :) Sign language classes seem to be full of single chicks.
Lots of people meet their partners through community groups. My sister met her fella through Scouts. I've got lots of friends who met through the SCA.
Ask your friends and family if they know anyone they could introduce you to. Many people meet through mutual friends.
