Very valid point. The government needs to do some serious restructuring and needs to reevaluate the social programs they do offer because they usually encourage people to not work, versus actually helping those who are working but need a little help. I am not opposed to helping others but I do agree that we need to help our own more.

I believe that we should help others, but that whatever money goes to other nations should be used on things that will lead those people to earn their own money and supply their own needs at a given point in time.
If they have the means to work then they should work or not eat, if they do not have the means to work then a way for them to work should be made.

Yes. We should.
I don't think many people will agree with me, but I believe that as members of a human community we are obliged morally and ethically to help those who are less well off than us. In Western countries we measure poverty on a relative scale, as opposed to an absolute measure. Those who are sufffering from famine, hunger, disease, war and natural disaster are in absolute need and we should offer whatever assistance we can.
That is not to say we should ignore those suffering in our own countries. Injustice and poverty is a sin, wherever it exists.
If the shoe was on the other foot, as it were, would you feel the same way?

Actually, that money is sent with the condition to use on certain projects that use American companies. Those projects include anything from drugs to large engineering projects.
We actually give the least per capita (Norway and Denmark lead the world) and most of what goes out from our government goes with strings attached, which is good for our businesses, which feeds our economy to a certain extent AND gives us negotiating power among other countries.

No it ruins the economy and a lot of countries that receive money spend it on out-of-date missile defense systems. We should purchase the food and supplies in our own countries and then send it there.

I believe we need to help our own first. Then, send money for food and medicine to other countries.

No. Not under the circumstances youve mentioned. If I was a ruler of a country it would be my job to care for the people in my country first.
However, sending money to other countries isnt just for purposes of charity. The majority of the money US gives out are loans under World Bank and IMF. They put the other country in debt and serve to richen the US vault in the long run.
Also, this is a political question.
Not religious.

It is always good to help people who are in dire need of money, whether they be your own countrymen or others. But only if you have sufficient money, you should help the others. If your countrymen are as much as in need, then your first responsibility would be to help them. God will help the other countries through some other means..... he always does. After all, we all are his children.

understand that money is but a book credit
that people sell thier souls for but it is but paper
it has worth because we will do evil to get it
but its just paper [a promise to pay money ,ie coins ]
the only real true money is silver /gold and coppers
notes are a promise to pay you in real money
but a note can be rented for 19 cents
it is created from a book credit
controled by 12 bankers
even govt has to ''lend ' /rent its own money [at intrest/ursery]
wars bankrupted our govts so the banks now own the fed reserve gold , 12 bankers own the fed reserve /mint etc
bankers can ''buy '' gold from the mint for 44 dollars and 44 cents [per ounce] ,they can then sell it for money [but money hasnt any real worth , when they can print more anytime [and create inflation] [thus use it to do good before they inflate it away ,its all in the bankers hands
govt could mint 12 coins and under seigniorage ''buy '' back the bank
but the last to try [pres order 11.110] was kennidy [he died 3 days later ]
then nixon tried it and we know what happend to him

If you have the means, you may send donations to the poor and the needy persons, but be sure that wht you give them will reach them. It may only taken by people who are taking advantage of the situation.
