Yes. Happiness is a decision. Happiness isn't when you get everything you want. It's when you learn to be satisfied with what you have. Sucks, but that's the way it is. God's answers are always wiser than our prayers.

Using the word 'happy' is misleading. In the Bible words like 'contentment', 'joy' and 'peace' are used to describe what God gives to those who trust him implicitly. The peace of God that passes all understanding is such that even those being persecuted for their faith can retain a deep joy. The provision of Christ's sacrifice cleanses our consciences - priceless and joyous gift! Christ died to set us free. Freedom is beyond mere happiness! So, yes, God gives us everything we need to be liberated from all that would bind us.

There is no God. . . so evidently we have been given nothing.

Faith in the non existent God exists. . which has given us a mixed bag, some good some bad.

Look at the treatment of Muslims in Kosovo, different religion see, or until recently the treatment of Catholics in Northern Ireland, (same religion different sect) or Sunnis contra Shiites in Iraq. Consider the Crusades, or the Arab conquest of Southern Spain and Portugal. How about the slaughter of the Cathars by Catholics or the centuries of persecution of the Jews in Europe.

There are many more examples.

Take the ethnic cleansing of Jericho or the almost complete destruction of the Midianites. . both described in the 'Good Book'

All in the name of religion.

But remember, there will always be good people doing good things, there will always be bad people doing bad things, but it takes religion to make a good person do bad things.

Happiness comes from within, not from non existent supernatural power. so look to yourself .

God gives us freewill, this life is a test, God helps them who help themselves, "Remember that " life is how you make it, you are by the company you keep, God gives different things to different ppl to be happy, God gives some ppl, arm, legs, eyes, health to be happy, whereas some ppl dnt ave this, but again this is a test to see how we react to what God gives us, how we treat others, how we react to others, God gives us what we want and if we want it, and how much u want it, all is God wills it, PEACE".

No, because what we want is not always what we should have. Sometimes we think that having something or someone will make us happy when it won't. God knows the best.

yes, how we approach life is what makes us happy or unhappy....choices we make....my belief anyways...anytime I have been truly miserable , it seemed to stem from some choice I had made some where along the line.
Peace.

Assuming God exists, I think I'd need a couple of things clarified.

1) Do you mean from birth?

2) Or do you mean on the planet in general?

If it's the first option, I'd say no. If it's the second option, then yes.
