Crusty bread which looks freah or a picture of a sandwich from the side, make sure fillings look healthy as people are more health conciouse these days. There are some good sandwich recipes on this link.

Look a picture of a slice of bread.... create a border of just the crust then hang "The Crust" in neon letters in the center and write sandwich bar along the bottom line of the crust!

I picture a red, green, and white logo with a picture of some type of sandwich in the middle....meat protruding. I'm thinking a circle shaped logo in those bold colors that reads "The Crust". Red and Green are great colors because they make people think Italian and everybody associates Italian food as being delicious....doesn't mean that's what you have to serve, it's all about good connotations when they see your logo.

Make the "C" in crust resemble an open-ended slice of bread, with that crowned effect on top and the side of the letter slanting in and squaring off.

First thing that came to mind: A smily face with either a bread crust or pizza crust as the mouth.
