Adam and Eve were not apes. Eve ate the apple from the tree of knowledge and gave some to Adam. then they were banished from the Garden of Eden. They disobeyed God and were punished.We have enough of different fruits to eat in our world, why would anyone want to be greedy? Just be satisfied with what you have!

did not adam and eve act like repentant drunks the next day , after they consumed the fruit [ferment ed fruit from the tree of good and evil] of good fruit and evil fermented [spoiled fruits]
see the evil of the demon ''drink '' even today
is not alcohol [drunkenness the bane of our time ]
even christ bespoke to only to drink the new wine [unfermented grape ]
juice from grapes dosnt ferment [spoil ] in heaven
there is no demon drink in heaven
thus no shame , no knowing of evil
thus no knowledge of ''good'' and evil but the good alone
the ''new'' wine
little wonder god forbad the eating of the fermented ''fruits''

How do you know that fruit is no longer with us?
The Bible does not specify what fruit it was.
It could have been a pear, a cumquat, a watermelon and they all exist today.
