i want to keep them away from my balcony.i can't enjoy sitting there because they poop all over the place and im' tired of cleaning it everyday.how do i get rid of them and not for this dirty birds to come back.please somebody give me any idea how to keep them away.i tried putting up plastic owl or plastic bags so it will make noise.it doesn't work.there a pain in the ***!i appreciate your ideas.thanks.

I had this problem in one of the places i lived.
I put 2 strands of fishing line stretched across my balcony railing suspended 1 inch above.
When they tried to land, they had a hard time to land and stopped coming to my balcony.
My neighbour had a different idea that also worked.
He used Cayenne pepper and Vaseline and greased the rail.
His idea was very effective also.

First of all, despite how many of them there are, it is illegal in the UK to mess with a pigeons nest. They are infact a extremely interesting bird and suprisingly clean.
Someone near you will be feeding them otherwise they wouldn't stay. Try going outside and making alot of noise to discorage them but if they have eggs or young leave them it will only take a month or so before the young are fully grown then make noise etc.
Better yet-
Try finding a breeder or rehabber in your area who will capture and take off your hands.

Somebody in an adjacent apartment must be leaving food out for the pigeons otherwise they would have no reason to congregate. Since the feeding of pigeons was banned in London's Trafalgar Square, the pigeons have totally disappeared

Not only are they dirty, smelly, the droppings contain over 17 known agents that cause infection diseases. You will need to have a professional bio-hazard company come and clean them up. You should NEVER clean up the mess yourself! !
I'm sure they have an answer to your problem. Whatever the cost...........it's worth it, to you and to everyone else in your community.

If you try the idea of Cayenne pepper and Vaseline you will possibly be killing birds...If the bird steps in Vaseline and it gets on their feathers...they have no way of adjusting or controlling their body heat....It only takes a little vaseline and a bird that preens to get that junk through large portions of their body....
