I use too give my daughter pediasure. She was born 1#4oz.
Also she loved fries at that age and her doc said it was okay at that age to help with weight gain. She is very picky also and still only weighs 25lbs. at 4 yrs. old. Anything full fat is good such as yogurt, peanut butter, cheese. You can put a layer of butter under his peanut butter for sandwhiches which adds 100 calories. Also make smoothies but add some powdered milk too the regular milk for more calories. It's been awhile so I can't remember everything I did.

make plenty of food (healthy of course) available to him at all time and there is an appetite increaser ( don't know the proper terminology) call Incermin ( not quite spelt like that, can't remember how to spell it haven't use it for a few years). I used it with my eldest when he was 18 mths - 2 years old due to his ill health and lack of appetite and needing him to gain some weight worked well for him

i had this for a while with my son so i looked in my mothers old cookery books and found things like sponge and custard, stodgy puddings and vegetables with cheese sauces etc i was worried at first about salt and sugar and fat but my mum said dont worry and just give him what he will eat for time being which was chips custard things like that i then added more variety and got him on track so for a little while try (junk) its never hurt any of my family and were not over weight and unhealthy so try even for 1 week then introduce healthy options.by junk i mean dairy custard etc not burger and fries!!

Another thing you can try is mixing a protein powder in with his milk, they have chocolate and vanilla flavors almost anywhere. It will add protein, calories and vitamins too! And hopefully to him, it will taste like a milkshake!
Good luck!
