I HAVE A 17 YEAR OLD STEP SON AND A 19 YEAR OLD THEY BOTH WILL DO NOTHING FOR ME AROUND THE HOUSE UNLESS THEY GET SOMETHING THEY LIVE HERE FOR FREE. I CHARGE THEM 20 DOLLARS A WEEK FOR GAS TO TAKE THEM TO AND FROM WORK . THE 17 YEAR OLD WANTS HIS DRIVERS PERMIT I TOLD HIM NO UNTIL HE CHANGES HE GOT MAD I JUST HAD KNEE SURGEY AND THEY WILL DO NOTHING SO I TOLD THEM THEY ARE GOING TO PAY RENT HERE 20 DOLLARS A WEEK AND THEY BOTH QUIT THERE JOBS SO I TOLD THEM YOU HAVE 7 DAYS TO GET A JOB OR YOU ARE OUT THIS CAUSES ALL FIGHTING WITH THE WIFE I PAY ALL THE BILLS HERE I PUT THE GAS IN THE CARS AND I OWN THE CARS PLUS I PAY THE INSURANCE, AND THE 19 YEAR OLD JUST WANTS TO SIT AROUND AND WATCH TV WITH MOMMY. AND EATS US OUT OF HOUSE AND HOME HE EATS A FULL 16" PITZA BY HIMSELF AND WASTES SODA OPENS A CAN TAKES A SIP AND LETS IT SIT SO NOW NO SODA AND NOW HE DOES THAT TO MY WATER! IAM READY TO THROW THEM ALL OUT AND GET A DIVORCE!

The 19 year old needs to get out and get a life. You will have to put up with the 17 year old for a while longer... but you don't have to buy the gas/insurance etc... Your wife should be more strict as well. Maybe that will make them appreciate the little things in life!! Stop taking care of them!
Kick the 19 year old and. And give the 17 year old BASIC needs only.

Where is his mother in all this? Everybodies going to drop this on your shoulders (as the man of the house). We don't know how long you've been in their lives. It sounds like shes made them do nothing their entire life. She needs to wake up and correct this behavior. If she doesn't, she doesn't care about you. The kids certainly don't respect you. Maybe moving on isn't such a bad idea.

You need to give the 19 year old one more ride....to the Salvation Army. Then you'll just have the younger, but he won't have a partner in crime. The situation should be easier to handle.

A 17yr old doesn't need to support themselves, that's your job. The 19yr old is another story. Did you adequately prepare him to be a man and support himself? That was your job, you are the man in the family. If you didn't do it and you suddenly expect him to be something other than what you created, then shame on you. You reap what you sow.

I hate it when people say they are thinking about divorce when there is a problem in the family. Grow up, be a man, handle the situation and move on. Geez!

tell your wife that they have one month to find new jobs,give you 100.00 a month for rent,gas and food. that they will mow, etc what ever you choose or they are out on their own.if she doesnt like it tell her then she has a mo. to get a job to support them or they can all go. a spouse is to support your choices and stand behind you.sounds like you are being used.
