Stop spoiling them. Some kids these days, dont know how good theyve got it. take the kid to a refuge, get them to help feed the homeless anything that would at least give them an incling of an idea that lifes not all served on a golden platter.

If the kid isn't yours, forget about doing anything. His parents won't like whatever you do, even if it actually means good.

If the kid is yours, then you will need to be a bit hard-hearted. If there is something that you don't think you should give in to him, then make sure you hang on till the very last minute, regardless of his tantrums and what not. So long as you win this first battle, which could be real tough, the next one will be easier to fight.

Take responsibility for spoiling him/her and correct your behavior. If its not your kid, (or step kid), then ignoring a spoiled brat is your best defense.

teach that kid about how much hard work goes in making money and being able ton support yourself. if he/she wants something, they have to do work. if they do work, they get rewards. if the kid is under the age of 15 then make him/her do chores. if it's 15 and over, make it get a job.
