to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.
why a thumbs down? this is a fact. in the seventeenth century, a group of christians in england who were writing about their faith began by asking this very question. there answer was, "to glorify God and enjoy Him forever." in our family we changed it a little. we say, "to glorify God by enjoying Him forever."

From all the postings on this site it seems that we have a very vague idea. However, for those who have the believe that God is the prime mover of everything including us, God is labouring hard to bring man to 'that end' we can only now imagine.
Peace

Perhaps you are aware that this is the first question in the Westminster Confession. If you havn't read it or seen it, go to the first page and the first question. The answer is there.

SIN-SIN-SIN. Look around you at whats going on. Its all in the bible. Gays want to get married. People kill themselves for the promise of virgins. By the way. After they've had sex with them. They ain't virgins anymore. Are they?
