No-but lighting needs to be soft and flattering rather then bright and harsh. That is why candle light, moonlight is romantic.

not all the time. ive had sex in the middle of the day with the curtains open. (my bedroom is at the back and looks out onto roofs). ive had sex in the light evening in a tent aswell.

it depends on when and where. if it's like spare of the minute, lights off cause i want to look my best. but if im looking forward to it lights on for sure, i want to see him seeing me

i dont like when its dark - i want to see who i am with.
but a little dimmed lights are the best - creates more romantic atmosphere.

Dimmed lighting... It hides imperfections, but you can still see anything you want to.
