Green, I love you, green. It is the first (and repeated) line of the remarkable "Romance sonambulo" of Federico Garcia Lorca (murdered early in the Civil War), arguably the greatest Spanish poet of the 20th century.

"verde, que te quiero verde"

could be like:

Green! I want you (to be) green!
If taken like that, it makes perfect sense, like a child insisting that you be on the green team for example.

To help with understanding, consider this:

Te quiero aquí a las 8 mañana!
I want you here tomorrow morning at 8!

Citation from Philip Jenkins, Hidden Gospels, page 165: "Labyrinth programs are held in churches and retreat centers of many denominations. These events commonly feature meditation programs and activities described as dream-quests, based on texts drawn from mystical writers such as Hildegard. Such programs commonly employ Hildegard's concept of veriditas, or 'greenness,' the springlike spirit of divine life pervading the creation." Follow up with Hildegard of Bingen.

It has an ecological meaning:" I want the green (environment, plants) always green (color- fine, living, healthy...)". I hope it helps...

PS: We say this in Portuguese, also.

Don't forget that 'verde' can also mean randy, smutty, 'blue', etc, if that helps.
