Well, the god of the bible claims to have created evil... what a nice guy, right? It's a good thing he's imaginary.

This is what I think evil exist because of Adam and Eve eating the fuirt in the garden. But God gives us free well. We can chose to do right or wrong. Some people would rather do wrong because they are in pain or hurt from other reason.
They think they are doing wrong to get even or just the way they feel. We all can do evil if we chose but most of us do not want to hurt anyone else but some people can and do like to hurt other people for whatever reason. Have a Great Day, Ladyangel

To prove that some faithful people can obey God regardless of there being evil influence around.
If there was no evil, there would be ne reason to struggle.
Even after Armageddon, when only the righteous remain alive, Satan is to be TEMPORARILY locked up in the 'pit', albeit for a thousand years...but then he will be ' let out for a little while...
(Revelation 20:3) And he hurled him into the abyss and shut [it] and sealed [it] over him, that he might not mislead the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After these things he must be let loose for a little while.

As a final test for those ones.
some will fail.

But for those that do not fail, Satan will be totally destroyed then so that no longer will they have to p[ut up with wickedness.
(Revelation 20:10) And the Devil who was misleading them was hurled into the lake of fire and sulphur, where both the wild beast and the false prophet [already were]; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

This is the classic problem from evil that no theologian has ever answered. Bible god knew what the result of Adam and Eve eating the fruit would be...billions and billions of good people being eternally tortured, tsunamis, childhood cancer on and on.. There is no way a god who is defined as all-loving, all-knowing and all-powerful can co-exist with evil.

“The gods can either take away evil from the world and will not, or, being willing to do so cannot; or they neither can nor will, or lastly, they are able and willing. If they have the will to remove evil and cannot, then they are not omnipotent. If they can but will not, then they are not benevolent. If they are neither able nor willing, they are neither omnipotent nor benevolent.. Lastly, if they are both able and willing to annihilate evil, why does it exist? ” -Greek philosopher Epicurus (341-270 BCE)

I do not get your correlation between God being all knowing and the existence of evil. However, evil does exist in the world. God will never take away our free will.

Evil does not exist. We project our fears "outward", place them onto someone or something "outside" us, and call it "evil", because we cannot bear to see that "evil" in ourselves. But evil as a force, or an intelligence, or a monster, only exists as long as the world insists upon believing in it.

If an all powerful, all knowing god of love existed, evil wouldn't.

I found this quote on the net somewhere. Maybe it might help. Its not the REAL one though. The real one also mentioned that cold doesn't exist because it's the absence of heat.

A university professor challenged his class: "Did God create everything?" A student replied, "Yes." The professor continued: "If God created everything, then He created evil too. And since our works define who we are, then God is evil." The class became silent. Suddenly another student raised his hand and asked, "Professor, does darkness exist?" The professor responded, "Yes." The student replied, "No, sir, darkness does not exist. Darkness is just the absence of light. Light, we can study, but not darkness. In fact we can use Newton's prism to break the white light into many colors and study the various wavelengths of each color. But you cannot measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into a world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you know how dark a certain space is? You measure the amount of light present. Darkness is a term used by man to describe what happens when there is no light present." Then the young man asked, "Sir, does evil exist?" Now uncertain, the professor responded, "Of course." To this the student replied, "No, evil does not exist, sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. It is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness, a word that man has created to describe the absence of light. God did not create evil. It is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart. Evil is like the cold that comes when there is no heat, or the darkness that comes when there is no light." The professor sat down. The young man's name was Albert Einstein.

Evil is the result of free will. It is called sin. The guy who said that is 100% accurate. There is a verse OT where God says he created everything good and evil ( some peoples bibles say calamity-same thing). This is a long topic for discussion. People tend to have lots of ?'s and opinions about it.

there is a thin line between good and evil. you know it and nobody, no church needs to tell you. when you die...well this is what i believe...forget everyone else.....i think that if you feel you did evil you will be tortured by your own mind...kinda like nightmares...until you regret it...if you feel you lived a good life then you will be free to move on to your next lifetime as another being....animal including human...i must sound like a freak but this is what i believe...its not much more far fetched than christrians or other stuff....i think is mostly taoist....which is what i believe....what goes around comes around...god and evil is all part of your soul telling your right from wrong....those that don't have it have mental disorders...they ussually end up homeless in clinics or in jails....more medical attention definitely needs to be paid to those with mental disorders....
