I'm not Christian (I'm Muslim), but here are my two cents... I don't see anywhere that God has specifically forbidden Masturbation in the Qur'an and only have heard very few Hadith that may or may not be false. So by the judgment that if God doesn't explicitly forbid something it is ok... I would say that Masturbation isn't forbidden. Though fulfilling these desires with a spouse would be a better way to go. Allah knows best!

Actually, the bible doesn't directly address masterbation as far as I am aware. What is specifically forbidden is lust, which God sees as adultery (read Matthew 5 to understand why lust=adultery, hatred=murder, etc). Since I can't masterbate without fantasizing about and lusting after women, and since I won't willfully disobey God, I don't masterbate.
Does that mean that I NEVER lust or am without sin? Of course not, but when I catch myself slipping into sinful thoughts or actions, I stop and ask forgiveness from God. It's hackneyed but the old bumper sticker is right: Christians aren't perfect, just forgiven.
Repentance is the first step toward salvation. To repent of your sins is to admit that you have done what you knew was wrong, to acknowledge that you have offended God by disobeying him and to sincerely undertake not to do those things any more. Then just ask God to forgive you based on your faith in Jesus Christ, whose sacrifice paid the price for your sins... he was punished in your place so God can let you go. Then you will get a new heart with new desires and will want to obey God and stop sinning (this is what it is to be born again).
If you find any part of this procedure difficult to be sincere about, pray that God will help you. He will. He promises that those who seek Him will find Him.

What is the point of masturbation? No one does it with the intent to glorify God. Your body is the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit, therefore, glorify God with your body (the context of that I Corinthians passage is sexual conduct). God made humans and He made them sexual (in His image He made them male and female). God likes humans to have sex but He has set boundaries and limitations on what is appropriate. With masturbation there has to be a "fantasy" context to get the desired end--anyone who looks at another person with lust in the heart has already committed adultry with that person (Matthew chapter 5). No, not all sexual activities within the confines of heterosexual marriage are glorifying to God, even among Christians, but that does not alter God's standards.

Masturbation isn't wrong!
If you don't masturbate you'll have wet dreams so it'll even itself out.

Go blind? Well don't Christians also believe that sex is wrong and what not? So I guess it follows logically that masturbation is wrong. :-S

Depends on the Christian. There is no doctrine that all 2 billion Christians hold in common.

well, you aren't hurting anybody. and medieval christians thought it increased the likelihood of a pregnancy if the woman masterbated prior to intercourse (wrongly, I think). so i guess it depends on your personal opinion. considering a third of the worl's population is christian, you'd be hard-pressed to find a universal opinion.
