Follow your vets advice to the letter.
If you know who did this beat them senseless. If they're tougher than you hire some thugs to beat them for you.

The cat is suffering from post traumatic stress, get a cardboard box and cut a round hole in the top, that way she can only see whats above her, it's safe and dark, which is what all animals will look for when injured ( as in the wild it's when they are most vulnerable when injured), leave some chicken morsels in a small dish, around 4 small strips, overnight, keep her with you in your bedroom, she will feel safer if your around, and also put something in the box with your scent on, so when your not around she can still smell your presence, check in the morning to see if any strips of food have gone, don't worry if they haven't, keep a close check on her water intake, also ask your vet about giving her some skullcap for the time being to calm her down.
She may not eat for 3-4 days till over the trauma, lucky for us animals forget the initial incident but remember not all people are nice.

OMG!!!! I am so sorry for your little cat. I don't know what to suggest regarding her eating - has the vet voiced any concern?? At the beginning of April my cat was run over by a car and badly broke his pelvis. He went into the animal hospital on the Saturday night and he did not eat anything until the following Wednesday, kitties are resilient - is she drinking water??? I think the best thing to do is discuss this with the vet and see what he/she thinks about it, they may be able to give your cat something that will enable her to keep the food down.
As for the people/person who shot your cat, Gosh - wouldn't you like to do it right back at them - it makes me so ANGRY that there are people out there who would do such things to defencless animals.
Anyway chick I wish you and your little cat all the luck and best wishes in the world and I hope she gets better very soon. Give her a little pet from me.

Take her back to the vets as she is not eating and could get dehydrated which can make cats very sick, it's obvious you care about her because you have tried everything to tempt her and she is not accepting it. It could be that she is still distressed from the incident or could be in pain, or as your vet suggested she could have an infection. She may need to stay at the vets while they get her hydrated.
As for the people who shot her, talk to the police, they should be arrested for what they have done.

What happened to your beloved cat is unforgivable and should be dealt with by the police. I have listed two very good websites below that will help you and your current situation.
Please file a police report on this now. And... keep your cat/animals inside. There is someone who is a threat to you and your animals at this time. No matter what, do not let yourselves become a victim to this type of outside criminal behavior. Do file a police report with the authorities. They will investigate and ask them to get back to you. Keep a copy of the police report for your records. If it happens again, file again and reference the first police report.
People who abuse animals in this manner are twisted. Do not try to solve this mystery yourself. Let the police do their job and follow up with them too.

She is still traumatised.
Years ago I used to boil some white fish like cod (after i had taken the bones out first) in a little milk and the sick cats used to like that.
Since you have taken her to the vets, you are doing all you can that way, but i think you just need to give her time. cats do not need to eat every day if they are sick, they take their time and rest and sleep and get better that way.
Dont try to force her to eat, just give her a bit of time. If you are very worried then take her back to the vets again.
Hope she gets better soon.

Hi there, I am so sorry for what has happened to your cat, the same thing happened to my cat years ago, the vet got 3 pellets out of him. It may take a while for you cat to get back to normal, when she started hiding I wonder if she had heard something that reminded her of what had happened? foodwise, try really smelly things like sardines and pilchards and again try chicken, also try liver (though not too much).
I wish you luck and hope your cat makes a full recovery.

She may need to stay with an emergency vet on IV fluids until she gets her appetite back. If she is not eating or drinking, the other things will be the least of your worries because she will die from dehydration.
It sounds like you love your kitty, so please if she still won't eat, get her back into a vet and have her put on fluids. Make it clear to them that you are taking an active stance to save your cat, not just to save money.

The thing about the person not being around i would say that you should keep your eyes open because if this has happened before it could be on purpose. Also i wish you all of luck with that dear cat of yours.
Hope this helps a little

To tempt her to eat you need stuff that smells really strong to her like pilchards or sardines ( they smell even stronger if you warm them up a bit.) Failing that you can get some special concentrated food from your vet and feed her with a syringe.
If she's still throwing everything back up I'd take her back to the vet and get her checked over again.
Good luck and I hope she gets better soon.
People who shoot cats should be shot by cat-owners.

She needs to be with the vet, maybe on IV fluids. Don't force her to eat.
My cat was also the target of an airgum pellet. Fortunately, not in a dangerous place. We should campaign to get these weapons banned.
