Has mass unskilled immigration been a disaster for Britain?

Let me start off by saying I am neither racist nor xenophobic, i have lots of Polish and Hungarian friends who are wonderful people. The problem i have is that i hear all these arguments in favour of mass immigration and yet none of them stand up. Some of the Mythological Benefits are;

1. "They create huge Tax revenues."- This one is utter rubbish. If you took all the unemployed and put them to work not only would you be receiving the same Tax revenue you would be cancelling out the Welfare payments.

2. "They do the jobs the British dont want to do." well maybe if companies increased the wages and made them competitive people would want to do them.

The negative affects far outway any of the so called positive affects, we now have prison overcrowding, lower wages, housing shortages/ soaring house prices (please dont say this has nothing to do with immigration) The only benefit it brings to this country is that it make us more multi-cultural.

Immigration at rate it has been at just recently is causing a problem especialy in places like Slough. The administration cannot cope.

Its all part of the general screwedupness of the UK, of things being massively in favour of the rich. It would be much easier to handle if: The education system was better so we have more skilled people to fill more jobs. The minimum wage was higher so that for more people it makes sense to come off benefit. Interest rates were lower so that it makes sense for businesses to invest in machines to do the work that machines should do. So in effect the bar is raised for getting work here and the locals are by and large better off and happier.

I am student in your nation, now. I come here in 1987 last time. Since that time in 1987 your country has changed too much. You now have many very dangerous black peoples and many Indians and the many Pakistani peasants.
There many European peoples who speak very strange language I am unfamiliar with.

We do not allow these undesirable social element people in my nation because already we have many major problem with the internal security and also with the poverty.

You must not allow the black peoples into your nation because they are drug dealer and smuggler. I have read they use the knife for fightings. In my nation this is not acceptable to us, the pribumi- or native people. Simply put, these black peoples would be made disappeared.

The ethnic minority population must be made fearful of the native (pribumi). I give example of Indian person in my nation. If pay the police their bribe for protection- maybe next week burn their business. If he still not pay we burn their house. Still not pay-
we burn the Indian in the street as warning and create fear to all ethnic minority that must obey native or face consequence of our anger.

This is the way the native must treat the ethnic people. The ethnic are peasant and only understand the fear and the violence used for control purposes.
The native white people here look like they afraid of the ethnic. You must reverse this situation and make the ethnic afraid of the natives. It is much better for internal stability.

Already Britain has the multi-cultures it has no need for importation of peasant ethnic.
Already you have Scottish peoples and the Ireland peoples and the Wales peoples. All very polite to me and my family. They know we are not peasant here to steal their land from the native- this is why they very polite.

Funny, most racist usually prestage their arguement, rants, by saying I am not racist and have many black friends.

Truth is, however, they are at heart, otherwise the need to deport everyone would not arise.

The economics of your arguement are tilted towards the rantings of the Daily Mail, which makes it up, as opposed to printing the truth.

I employ four overseas people, without need to parade them as my black friends, on a proper wage, and I tell you this, they work harder, like me, and with less moaning than your average Brit.

im irish so i cant really comment on britain but i know what the implications are with mass migration. the irish did invade the states and britain but not as unskilled labour, we built your houses roads hospitals and schools. its only fair ireland takes in migrants too. i've worked with quite a few polish. they get treated like crap paid crap wages and most of them are fully trained up trades people doing labouring. yes work is taken away from me but i dont mind as long as they are working, as for me i go out and find work, not like certain migrants who prefer to beg shoplift and claim benefits.

There is so much to your question to you could debate about it until you are blue in the face. Everything is relative. Some could say for redemption for atrocious sins of the past to the former countries, and you could debate the tax breaks/WTO and other advantages the goverment can have. Since you feel so strongly about it, perhaps you should get involved with politics and make a difference using your passion.

here here my friend. once upon a time not so long ago during the summer i would go and work on the land to bring in some extra cash for me and the kids to go away for a week ...... cant find land work anymore hummmmmmm i wonder why as i pass the green fields and see people still working them. im not rasist believe me my uncle married a lithuanian lady and shs lovely but please give us brits a break we WILL do those crappy jobs given 1/2 the chance

Do we have to apologise,every time, and claim we are not racist,it's our country and we are a small island we are getting grid locked do these people mix with us,the poles don't, the pakistani's don't, the asians think they are above us all,but they like us to buy from there shop's.no wonder the BNP are on the up,i think i will join them.

It seems to me that nearly every nation has a much more mixed population than ever before. Some one told me yesterday that they were moving to Poland, apparently there are plenty of properties for sale there.
