I don't have a clue about evolution and I was probably the dumbest science student around. Science really bores me. Just being honest.

Those are two very separate concepts. When you are talking about science and evolution, you are talking about the recent trend among many fundamental Christians who believe in the bible story about Adam and Eve as being true. I know many Christians who question those stories and many who believe in evolution as the natural state of things. In fact, almost every culture's religions have a creation story to explain how the world was created.

To be an atheist, all you have to believe in is that there is no God, not any God at all. I would venture to say that many atheist believe in evolution but that is not necessary to being an atheist. I hope that is helpful to you understanding.

Science bores me too. I actually came to be an atheist through the study of history more than anything else.

I guess you don't really have to...
technically the only real rule to being an atheist is that you don't believe in god...

but because that usually inlcudes not believing in any type of magical or unexplainable thing... then a working knowledge of science might come in handy...

but technically it isn't required.

Not really. There are plenty of uneducated atheists. However, science and naturalistic explanations do fall in line quite well with the athiest stance on the (non)existence of a deity.

Belief in anything is NON-scientific. Scientific theory just means it works right now, how can I prove it wrong? Constant analysis to get to the truth, which is ever-evasive.

Nothing is ever proven, but to the limitations we have pushed them, we are comfortable for awhile.

Nope. Atheism ONLY covers one's beliefs regarding the existence of gods. All other beliefs fit into some other description.

Atheism is characterized solely by a lack of belief. So actually by doing nothing at all you can be an atheist. It is a lack of belief not a belief in anything.
