My preference is mayo w/ 1 tablespoon raspberry or cranberry vinegar (or other fruit vinegar such as apple cider vinegar) per 1 cup of mayo.

I don't like either one for fruit salad. I would make a yogurt type dressing.

This one isn't too bad for most fruit salads. You may want to look for others depending upon the type of fruits you are using.

1 cup plain yogurt
1/2 cup fresh orange juice
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons orange zest
Whisk together and pour over fruit salad and mix.

Try to make your own sauce. Im sure your family will appreciate the hard work you've gone to make the salad and dressing and with that knowledge in mind Im sure the salad will taste much better then if you used a shop's sauce.
