Thanks rajesh for this wonderful question.
Paramshiva when manifests as sadashiva and Adi-Shakti, the spiritual mating between them creates a big resonance which is denoted by the word "AUM". This resonace is the eternal Naad...and this eternal Naad further manifests as different sounds and finally gross atoms.. (is it not looking scientific like Big bang theory? but this is the truth of hinduism.
Since Shiva created the first Naad... which is Aum, he is called Aumkareshwar.

Shiva means Omnipotent, or Omniscient. Shiva means the ever pervading, everlasting.
Omkareshwar = Omkar + Ishwar
OmKar = Creator of Om(Sound of the Sacred Syllable OM or AUM)
IShwar =Supreme Being(The Only One) THE GOD.
The Sacred Sound Om(AUM), if you say it with 3 syllables(A,U(oo), M) it starts at the belly(A) and rises up in the chest(U-oo), and rests(Vibrates) in the Cranium(M). Which is the process of meditation. To raise the Kundalini force from Mooladhara(base Chakra) or the Sexual Glands to Agna(Third eye or Sixth Chakra) or the Pituitary.
Hope this helps. The Hindu tradition named kids after God's name. Few reasons are God is in every human, and Every man/woman can be close to the station of God, if he prays. During the last time of man's life, calling his kids name(which is God's name) is considered calling GOD himself/herself which would aid the sick person(in the ripe old age) to reach heaven.
Be Blessed.
