yes but you would have to do a full install and you have to purchase a copy of XP.
Maybe you can contact HP to ask for a swap.
on the other hand, you may be able to make things work in vista. vista is so much more fun and it should run fine on the Pavillion. Initially vista may be a bit slow but after a few hours and/or reboot it behaves much better,

yes, locate the win xp dics, load it onto the computer, and shut down, turn on the system again and a message containing "press any key to boot from cd..." press any key the setup will intall, follow the steps until you have a list with the hard drive on it press d to delete the partion that has win vista intalled on it, then create a patrion pres intall then the hd will be formated and win xp will be installed freshly, ive done this many times with my computers, any doubts email me at piporob2000@yahoo.com

do you really want to void your warranty?
you can run the OS but if you change it it will void your warranty so if you want to then do so at your own disgression. also did your run the printer driver in backward compatibility mode? yes you can do that by right clicking on the driver setup and the click properties and then check the run in windows XP SP2 mode and the click on run as administrator and click apply and ok.

yes, on most systems it is possible, although some hp system parts do not have ex drivers made for them, in wich you have to run it with vista, but its not that bad, besides renstalling it is hard and tkes time, and is boring, you shoiuld just trace off the screen, its more interesting that way..
