seriously, I've been turning in applications everywhere & the places haven't called me yet, the earliest applications I turned in was like a month ago or a month & a half, & I kept on turning in applications since then, most recent was this past monday, I applied at two grocery stores, 1 fast food place, which is In-An-Out, & the rest was all clothing stores, & they haven't called me in for an interview yet. It's pissing me off, well I've never really had a job before, except for Abercrombie & Fitch, I only worked there 2 days because they ****** me over, like they hired me, but I didn't get any working hours, like every time I went inside the store to print out my schedule, I always had no hours on there, I kept doing that several other times but then gave up, cause it was like that all the time, I asked the assistant manager & she the said the store was going through transition because I applied there, it was at the beginning of January. I only got 1 paycheck which was 45 bucks.

It just pisses me off so bad that I have nothing to do, I want a job so that way I can have a life, have something to do outside home, I'm tired of being at home, I don't have a girlfriend, I can't get a girlfriend, never had one, still a virgin & I turn 20 next year. I never get invited to parties, the main reason I want a job is so I can make new friends & have something to do, cause a lot of people in society make new friends from work, I have a hard time making friends at community college cause I don't see the same people everyday, like I have friends, but most of them I consider acquaintences, cause they never call me, I always have to call them, like pretty much only person calls me to hang out, but im tired of hanging out with him because we are like the same, except he has a job, but we never get invited to parties, we always have ruined nights & weekends because people always lagg it on us, so I wanna make new friends who are reliable.

Work on improving your CV.
The good CV is the key to enter an interview.

Once you get yourself a good CV, then you'll be called for an interview. Of course, you'll have to work on your interview skills as well.

Also, be patient. A month is not such a long time.

Good luck

Dude, I researched a little and it seems you might be from the O.C. Nowadays you have to trick the employer. Word your details on the ap admirably. Study up on the history and the product of the business. Don't overtalk when interviewed and be polite and smiling when asking for an ap. I see help wanted signs everywhere but sometimes the sign is up just to go through the motions. Regular fast food places hire primarily one race, because these persons happen to be available.. In N Out hires very friendly semi intelligent persons who can work at a faster pace. They pay higher wages as well. Whatever you do, avoid making comments to any co-workers as they may stab you in the back. for brownie points. Depending on your name maybe put a female voice on your answering machine. Always lie on your ethnic background sheet. Put yourself as American Indian or Pacific Islander. and female. If it is fast food, you are Latino. This sheet is not signed and you can bet someone in the hiring process wil lglance at your entry even if it says that it will not be used by a hiring person. This is California and there are still quotas and there are still issues today about segregation in schools and in hiring in the Supreme Court even after a major USC case. Remember you have 19.5 million visitors who have magically acquired a SS#. and are taking labor jobs from citizens. They are not paying federal or state income tax in April and often change SS#'s right before the quarter end to keep from being detected. Have someone older analyze your ap before you turn it in and maybe xerox it so your answers don't contradict your interview questions. Be positive unlike what I just read above, smile and say thank you. For a while at least, instead of answering your phone "hello", answer it "good morning" etc. Talk to your friends and see if they can get you in where they work or have any ideas. Good Luck.

When the job hunt takes longer than expected, it's time to reevaluate. If you're not even getting an interview, then either your resume needs to be reevaluated or you've targeted the wrong field.

REVIEW YOUR RESUME
Are your skills clearly listed? Does it use action words to describe your expertise? Is it focused on the specific industry in which you are searching for a job? Is it formatted in a reader-friendly way, or do you have to search to pick out your strengths? Have a friend who knows how to write effective resumes evaluate it also.

HAVE YOU PICKED THE RIGHT INDUSTRY?
If you are looking for a job in the computer industry and your resume doesn't list any expertise in the field, then you're hunting for a job without any credentials. Before you spend additional time looking for a job in that field, reassess your goals. You must be able to demonstrate some transferable skills to get a job in an industry in which you have limited experience. Perhaps you need to develop additional skills first.

RECONNECT WITH YOUR NETWORKING CONTACTS

Call the people on your networking list. Tell them that your job search is stalled and ask for advice. Try to broaden the circle of contacts. Anyone you know, even if it is just a “good morning acquaintance” is part of your network. This is not the time to be shy.

CHECK YOUR INTERVIEWING SKILLS

If your resume gets you into the interview and you don’t get a callback for a second interview or offered a position, then reevaluate your interviewing skills.
Knowing the correct answers to tough questions and practice will improve your skills.

Peace and every blessing!

How about calling back those prospects. I called my prospects instead of waiting on them to call me. That's how I was able to get the position that I have now. You just can't wait for THEM to call YOU. So that they don't forget who you are, call them the day after you turn in an application, and simply ask the hiring manager, "Hi, my name is _________. I was wondering if you have had a chance to review my application yet." Continue calling prospects daily if necessary.

I guess other people are waiting for a call for an interview too. I've heard tons of people are looking for new jobs these days. Just be patient and wait. Someone will turn up and call for an interview.
