I have noticed that religious Christians are the quickest to get angry out of all the people I know. They start quoting scripture all the time during otherwise normal conversation, and when you get into an argument with them because they are almost always super anal weirdos, they blow up and show this ugly dark side. It's as if the religious Christians are actually the devil. They just seem to have such a dark side! So easily angered and ready to argue! They are always nice while trying to quote scripture and convert you.

That thin facade of serenity and love for everyone tends to fall away pretty quickly in the face of criticism of their religion, doesn't it?
I'm getting quite a collection of vicious name-calling hate mail in my inbox from those loving Christians in this forum to prove it.

Well "religious Christians" is a rather large generalization but I understand how people view religious Christians like that.
I think the amount of persecution the average Christian gets today is why they tend to be on the defensive side. Christians too often get portrayed negatively and in today's society where pop and mass culture is wiping away traditional values, Christians feel like they have to be on the alert for people trying to show that Christianity is wrong. They could be alot more patient with non Christians however, but isn't that true of most people?

You just admitted that you think of Christians as super anal weirdos even before you've talked to them. Then you say they're so ready to argue, when you have already admitted that YOU are the one who expects to get into arguments with them. These statements point to the fact that you are pre-judging others, which means you carry around some anger and prejudice of your own! Go take a look in the mirror, my friend.

Ha, I like the way you use the term Religious Christians, because now I can agree with you. The thing is not all Christians are quick to anger, because some Christians strive to obey what God says about being slow to anger in the Bible and anger isn't a major part of the life of a Relational Christian, meaning one that loves God and is a Christian because of their relation with Him. You're right, way too many Christians give the rest of us a terrible name, because they see Christianity as a religion instead of a relationship, so they try to force God on anybody who gets in their face.

A true christian would not get angry, blow up, get ugly or should have a dark side to themselves. God's people should be humble, meek, ready to help, and except people for who they are. Christian means " Christ Like " Followers of Christ and be an example of the way he lead his life and how he treated people and the congregations and spread the good news of god's kingdom through out the earth. So who are God's true witnesses today and are doing God's will. I will let you guess and tell me who you think they are.
Sincerely yours,

You haven't had a very good selection of Christians have you? The people you refer to are those that want to jump up and say "Hey look at me! I'm RIGHTEOUS!" For them, religion is some type of competition or game. There are plenty of religious Christians in the world, they just don't feel the need to shove it in everyones face and make sure that the entire human race knows what they believe.

The ego is often susceptiable to being baited into anger if one is not consciously aware and disciplined to avoid negative emotional responses much like psychiatrists train to take a professional stance of non personal involvement in dealing with human inter-relational therapy so as to best facitlitate their purpose of helping others.
All people have the possible predisposition to anger if not aware .

Teaholic, as a born-again Christian, I feel I must answer in our defense. The reason some Christians may seem to get angry, is that we really believe what we say and have the bible to prove it. (That's where the quoting comes in). You strike me as someone who enjoys confrontation (please forgive me if I'm wrong) but what better place to find confrontation than with a Christian. Are you talking to them for the right reason?

Well then ; you sure know a lot of people ..but I hardly think you should judge them all as "quick to get angry" . I know some Christians , too , and none of them are angry . We must be meeting our Christians in opposite ends of the world , ya think ?

I personally as a Christian wouldn't snap at you if you don't believe what I believe. We all have free will; I've used mine to believe in Jehovah God and you've used yours to believe something different. I'm not going to get mad about your choice, especially since I have no control over what you do. I'll do my best to preach and let people know more about Jehovah God but if they don't want to listen, that's their choice.
If I really wanted to be angry with someone, it would be with people giving Christianity a bad name. But like I said earlier, I can't control other people's actions so I don't get too mad about it.
