No. Being that it's more of a business than anything else, it'll always remain on the fringe where it belongs.
I especially hope it doesn't gain popular support or adherence because of it's staunch opposition to psychopharmaseuticals.
The “church” has also taken a very hostile stance towards psychiatry & psychiatric drugs irrespective of the fact that some people require medication to remain adequately functional in everyday life. They deny the reality of chemical imbalance & profound mental disturbance & accordingly do NOTHING to effectively stabilize the dangerously unstable.
I also worry about their petty and cruel litigiousness. Anyone, ANYONE, who speaks out against Scientology, rightly labeling it the cult and scam that it is, is met with a ferocious backlash of character assassination and legal bullying.

I'm sure that if humans haven't destroyed ourselves by then, yes. All religions get accepted, it just takes time. I don't know much about them, except that they are growing. And I'm sure that all churches looked like cults when they first started.
I don't believe in organized religion, I think that everyone is different and therefor has different beliefs, even inside one single church. It's awesome for some people, others like me just can't do it.

Scientology is brainwashing in its purest form. It may be a religion by US legal definition, but it is the most absurd set of beliefs ever cobbled together. Some people will believe anything, like killing themselves to catch a ride on the Hale Bop comet 'mother ship'. I will not be around a thousand years from now, so why should I care if it is accepted?

We know better - the only people who get suckered in are people who don't know how to research anything even superficially; fortunately they're in the minority.
Of course, if christianity or islam had been founded in the age of the internet... their fate would be much the same.
