Hurting others = bad
Helping others = good
No gods needed.

Are you not killing and stealing only because your god forbids it?

Who is more moral - somebody who thinks he'll be punished if he hurts others, or somebody who doesn't think so and still tries not to hurt anybody?

Your question sounds judgemental.

Do you feel that atheists do not have the same morals as Christians?

The Bible says that ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

This means you too, bub.

If you belive the Bible, even a little bit, then we're all in the same boat. All sinners.

Nobody is worthy to judge morality. Nobody is worthy to legislate it. shut up and pray.

Man has been attempting to legislate morality for ages, with varying success.

If laws go along with normal human nature and obviously improve society (against rape or murder, for example), then they are generally accepted and followed by the majority.

However, if they go against nature or common sense, like most "victimless" crimes aimed at pleasurable behaviors like drugs or prostitution), they usually fail.

Let's go with the categorical imperative, as it seems to be much more effective at determining morality than either the golden rule or the 10 commandments....

Do you consider a treatise written nearly 2000 years ago centuries after his death, filled with all-around general lies and mis-representation of the words of Jesus and the events of his life, violence, racism, incest, hatred, misogyny, fantasy, to be a valid standard?

Morals and values do not necessarily have anything to do with religion or spirituality but more to do with doing whats right or wrong and having been taught whats right or wrong.
