ok im gonna be on the news and i want to put it on my computer so i can upolaod it to youtube and stuff but how do i do it..
the only way i can think is if i record the news with my vcr player but then what??
there must be a better way please help

Record it on your VCR, then take it to a place that can transfer it to a CD/DVD.
Next, edit the file with MS Movie Maker.
I doubt that you can do it directly to your hard drive unless you have special equipment.
Ask the people at the news program if they can give you a CD of your appearance. That would be the easiest way.

You are going to have to have a video capture card that you can feed the video into or have some other method of getting the video on the screen so a software solution will work. I watch TV on my monitor with a USB video device AVerTV.
