Hello, we have two wonderful Bengal kittens. The first thing the breeder told us each time we brought one home was to put the kitten in a small area by itself for the first few days/nights with it's litterbox and food and water. A kitten is very tiny and may feel overwhelmed by a new big house/apt. The kitten should stay the night in here the first few nights in your home. Go in the area you put the kitten for a small amount of time several times a day to get the kitten accustomed to you and it's new home. Be sure to turn all lights out wherever the kitten is going to be at night so he knows that it is time to be quiet. Of course, he is going to meow and cry but he will realize no one is coming to get him and will stop and go to sleep. Do not wake the kitten up and contrary to what another poster said, do not give the kitten catnip or put it anywhere near anything he has. You are not supposed to give catnip to kittens until they are at least 6 months. This can hurt them and they don't need it when they are kittens anyway. Ask any vet, breeder, etc, it's not good for them! Once the kitten has been in his own area for a few days, allow him to get out and check out the house. Then at night time put him back in his dark place. After a few days he will start to understand when it is nighttime and you will then be able to put him where you want him at night. And don't worry, you won't roll over on him...he'll get out of the way!

Cats will find their own place to sleep. No matter what you decide or the nice bed you'll buy for them, they will sleep whee they want. While it is still a kitten, it is indeed better not to roll over on him. It is also good to play a lot with him in the evening and feed him just before you go to bed, so that he doesn't wake up at night. However, you must know that 6-10 months is the naughty age. He will be much calmer after that.

You have to remember that kittens are babies and they need to sleep alot. You can make him an inexpensive kitty bed by taking a cardboard box and putting a towel in it. They love to have something to snuggle down into. There are expensive kitty beds you can get, too, but the box works just as well. You could even make the box into a sort of house for him and he'd probably like it. "Oscar's House" sounds neat. You should put the box in the same room as his litterbox so he can find it in his new home. You're wise to be concerned about rolling over on the little guy. Remember he's going to be somewhat nocturnal, so you both will have something new to learn.

well cats are nocternal animals so its normal for him to be up at night and sleep all day. don't worry so much, get him a bed and put him on it so he can sleep there.
also a tip since he is a male, get him nuetered as soon as the vet says its possible, this will help with him not spraying the house.
I had a cat when I was little and he sprayed on my brother's and my Halloween candy, so we couldn't eat any of it! and it was a BIG bowl! :(

thats what kittens do. i adopted two kittens a year ago and they did the same thing up alllll day and awake all night. it will grow out of it
get a cat bed, bathroom rug, or basket with baby blankets inside and put it where ever you want the cat to sleep and sprinkle some catnip in it. it will soon become its favorite spot.

Don't wake him during his naps. Kittens sleep often and usually in short spurts untill nighttime. More than likely when you roll around or move in your sleep the kitten will probably wake up and move. My cat sleeps in the corner of my bed.

Cats are nocternal animals. It is there nature to sleep of a day and up at night. I doubt there is anything you can do to change mother nature. He will eventually get use to being up at night by hiself. Keep plenty of cat toys laying around for him to entertain hiself at night. good luck, God bless

Give him a nice soft blanket folded up in the floor.
You could put him in your bed near your pillow. He would be close enough for you to know if he gets up and fairly safe from rollovers.
