The original documents from which Scriptures derive were rigorously examined for authenticity by early canonical councils. They demanded eyewitness accounts or apostolic authorship. Today, a growing body of historical evidence affirms the accuracy of the Scripture.

For example, the prophecy recorded in Psalm 22 explicitly details crucifixion, with its piercing of the hands and feet, disjointing the bones, dehydration.

Crucifixion, however, was a means of execution unknown to Palestine until the Romans introduced it - several hundred years after the Psalms were written. So, modern critics concluded the Psalms were written later, such " prophecies" perhaps even recorded after the fact. Then came the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, which made possible the scientific dating of portions of the Psalms hundred of years before Christ.

Modern technology and archaeological discoveries are also adding substantial support to the historical authenticity of Scripture. As historian Paul Johnson has written, " A Christian faith has nothing to fear from the facts ".

Jesus confirmed the Old Testament, that is a lot in my books. When you talk to God, it is not like you talk with your friends. He communicates with us through His word. You need to know His Word, and dwell on it, and the Holy Spirit will confirm your " communication " ( I know this sounds crazy, but this is how it works )

It's is indeed man's interpretation of God's word. Bear in mind Humans have a tendency to always look for a damn loophole in anything or some way to worm out of everything. Hence all the attorney's and lawyers running around.
Look at it from God's perspective. He knows how humans are.
Therefore he put his words in writing and they were indeed set in stone. They are called the ten commandments and are really easy to understand. However in typical human fashion we are looking for a loophole. For instance: Thou shall not kill. Real simple but somehow we find a way around it by referencing the Bible. I'm familiar with the 10 commandments and I don't recall a disclaimer referencing another book being one of them. Considering how hard it was for Humans to grasp the concepts of a commandment he sent his Son to explain it. Of course he was promptly killed when folks didn't agree with what he said.
If anyone wants to hear God's word read the Ten Commandments. The rest are stories, misinterpretations, poor translations and Man's spin written 80 to 400 years after the main event was over.

That's exactly why God had the Bible written then and not now...The Holy Bible is "God-breathed", meaning, every word of it is from God, written by the hands of men. Some are documents of occurences like the Old Testament. But some are words that God wanted people of the Biblical times to hear first-hand, like Paul's letters to the churches. So, yes it is written with the hand of man, but they are like the typers of God's love letter to us.

lol yeah. but people need something to believe in and they'll come up with all kinds of stories to make it fit right.

But I bet you eat tons of Aspartame without even knowing how bad it is for you or smoke, not knowing that nicotine is 3 times more powerful a poison as Cyanide.. these are way more important matters than worrying about people being taken in by the bible. If they do not overdo it they'll even get some confort from it, so that's all that matter :)

If you did talk to God, you would know it. You would probably write down the things God told you so you wouldn't forget them. You would teach your children those things and they would pass down this knowledge to their descendants. These would be the things your descendants believe in and call it religion if you want.

This is what happened to Abraham and his descendants (the Israelites) in the Bible's stories.

Just because it was written by men doesn't make it false. Use logic properly.

Christians confessed that they are Corrupting and Interpolating Bible

Concept of trinity Trinity is taken from 1 John, chapter 5 verse no 7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost; and these three are one."
In Bible (R.S.V.) revised by 32 Christian scholars of the highest eminence backed by 50 different co-operating denominations, this verse which is the keystone of the Christian faith has been removed as an INTERPOLATION, as a fabrication and as a concoction. It has not been expunged from the Bible by the Muslims or non-Christians, but by 32 Christian scholars as a concoction fabrication because this verse does not exist in the original manuscript. We Muslims must congratulate the galaxy of D.D.’s (Doctors of Divinity) who have been honest enough to eliminate another lie from the English R.S.V. Bible, thus bringing it closer to the teachings of Islam and the Glorious Qur’an.

There are more than 3,500 versions of bible in this world.

Seventh Day Adventists and Jehovah's Witnesses.
First Roman Catholic Bible was published at Rheims in 1582. Second one published at Douay in 1609. These called RCV version of Bible. The Protestants regarded 7 books as ‘apocrypha’ (doubtful authority) and removed them from Bible. (The Book of Judith, The Book of Tobias, The Book of Baruch, The Buck of Esther, etc.) Jesus pbuh said in the book of Revelation Chapter 22 Verse 18-19 ". . . If any man shall add to these things (or delete) God shall add unto him the plagues written in this Book." On deleting 7 books from bible, the Catholics call ‘cult of Christianity’ to the Seventh Day Adventists and Jehovah's Witnesses.

The Catholic Encyclopedia states Bible is Skeptic and Concocted
A. THE FORMATION OF THE NEW TESTAMENT CANON (A.D. 100-220)
http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/03274a.htm
The idea of a complete and clear-cut canon of the New Testament existing from the beginning, that is from Apostolic times, has no foundation in history. The Canon of the New Testament, like that of the Old, is the result of a development, of a process at once stimulated by disputes with doubters, both within and without the Church, and retarded by certain obscurities and natural hesitations, and which did not reach its final term until the dogmatic definition of the Tridentine Council. ("Canon of the New Testament")
There is a lot of confusion about the earliest existing texts of the Bible. The oldest extant manuscript of the Bible is believed to be the Codex Vaticanus, (preserved in the Vatican Library), which is slightly older than the Codex Sinaiticus (preserved in the British Library), both of which were transcribed in the fourth century.
As for the story of Jesus, there were at least 50 gospels written in the first and second century CE. Four of them (Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John) were included in the official canon during the fourth century CE and are found today in every Bible. All of the original copies of the gospels were lost. What we have now are handwritten copies, which are an unknown number of replications removed from the originals.
Rudolf Bultmann, a prominent 20th-century professor of New Testament studies writes about the life of Jesus:
We can now know almost nothing concerning the life and personality of Jesus, since the early Christian sources show no interest in either, are moreover fragmentary and often legendary; and other sources about Jesus do not exist. (Bultmann 8)

The Bible is the way God chose to reveal Himself to us.
It was written by 40 different men, whom God moved and inspired to write down His message to us. It was written over a period of about 2000 years and its message is consistent and in unity. Hundreds of its prophecies have been fulfilled.
It is historically and archaelogically accurate.
Many lives have been changed because of it.
All of this supports the Bible's claim to be the divine word of God.

It was ; but they've distorted it accordin' to their needs . An example :

You may not have as food anything which has come to a natural death; the man from another country who is living with you may take it for food, or you may get a price for it from one of another nation; for you are a holy people to the Lord your God. [ Deuteronomy - 14:21 ]
