He's 19 and likes a girl who is 14? what do i tell him?

My bestfriend of like 7 years came to me the other day and told me that he likes this girl who is 14 years old. They have fun together and all but i still think its weird to like someone 5 years younger than that. he tells me he doesnt think its fair to use age as a factor when we're younng but adults dont really consider age a factor. i will agree with him in saying this girl is attractive for a 14 year-old but simply too young to date. am i right in my postition or should i allow him to tell this girl how he feels and just let her make the decision? thnx to all

It doesn't matter how much he likes her, she is too young. Too many young men are going to jail over this same issue. Age is only a number unless one is under 18. Tell him to stay on safe ground and keep it at friendship. Keep sex out of it. Don't trust that he can have sex with a minor and get away with it even if she say yes, it is still against the law. he will never know when some one is ready to turn him in. If he really likes her, keep it at friendship til she's 18. If his feeling are too strong then it's best if he leave her alone. A broken heart will heal in time. But being branded a child molester will last a life time.

5 years isn't much.. that's if they're both adults.. the problem with this is that the girl is too young.. god.. i'm sort of like in a same disposition as your friend but she's almost of legal age... so my advice is that just stay away from the girl.. 14 is definitely too young.. if he's 24 and the girl is 19, then there's no problem with it but 19/14 will cause problems.. BIG ONES!

All you can do as his friend is advise him that he is treading on very dangerous legal ground. Not only is he putting himself at risk, but at 14 this girl is way too young to have the maturity to date a man of 19. And thats the difference here, she is a girl, he is a man. At 14 also, dating men, or being seen with them is like 'forbidden fruit' and its something of a status thing to parade around with friends. Truthfully it would end in tears on both counts. In saying that you are going to have to be extremely tactful, and choose your words very carefully and let him know that as his best friend you feel you really must say how you feel but the eventual choice and the consequences are his.

Boys and girls develop differently and mature differently.First if you look at the age difference she should not be dating someone his age. If he wants to wait a couple years or more and just be friends now that would be ok but usually older guys put sexual feelings and needs in their relationships. At her age that is against the law.
