It depends entirely on the personalities of the two dogs more so than what breed they are. Also depends on how you treat them and interact with them.

Most definantly. Cavaliers can get along with almost any kind of breed. I had Cavalier's, a Boxer, an American Bulldog, and a Cocker Spaniel mix in the same household and all got along fine. Papillon are nice dogs like the Cavalier so they would most likely be best buddies.

They are similar in size, and both breeds tend to be friendly, so I see no reason why not. You have to consider individual personalities, though. An adult dog that's never been around any other animals is less likely to accept a second dog in the house, regardless of breed. But a dog that likes other animals when it's out for a walk probably will enjoy having a second dog around.

It completely depends on the mentality of the 2 dogs. But they should be because the 2 breeds are very sociable.

It has nothing to do with breed, I've seen Rotties get along really well with chihuahuas. the only thing that will tell is if their personalities are compatible, set up a play date, or just find two dogs at a shelter who "bunk" together.

I have a pitbull, rottweiler and 2 cats that are all friends. You just have to let them be. They may fight at first, but they will eventually get along.
