I am SOOOOO SICK of christians trying to convert me. Get in touch with reality, there is no such thing as a god or deity. Let me ask you all this?
1. Where was your little god when all those innocent people died on 9/11?
2. Where is your little god when little innocent boys and girls are getting molested and raped?
3. Where is your little god when people are dying of cancer and AIDS?
As an atheist, I am challenging all of you muslims or christians or whatever god you believe in to bow on your knees and pray this tonight: God, will you cure cancer tonight?? Will it happen? Of course not, god isn't real. I thought jesus told all of you, ask and you shall receive, yeah right. So go ahead say it, and you will find out it didn't work. And why didn't it work? Because there is noooo such thing as god.

I believe that as a child you threw a fit when you weren't given Instant Gratification, right? Jesus spoke of these things that are going to pass in the last days. God will not intervene until the end, when all will be set straight. Those who died are merely sleeping to God, and he has promised eternal life. So take your little self and your little challange, and eat a bran muffin.

The same place that he was when all of the elderly people die of old age.

We will all die sometime. Why does realizing that a large number of people died in a burning building shock you, but realizing that a large number of people just died today, and every day, in a nursing home of old age, does not? That attitude has always stunned me, as if you think that only the deaths of young people matter.

Where is God when innocent people get victimized? Would you rather that God struck everyone dead just before he committed a sin? Whenever God intervenes, such as when he sent two bears to save an old man from a gang of youths (2 Kings 2:24) or he drowns wicked people in a flood (Genesis 6:5-8), people complain that God is cruel and accuse him of murder. It seems like no matter what God does, no one is happy with it. If God took away the freewill of criminals, then he would have to take away the freewill of everyone else too. Some things just have to play themselves out until judgement day, when everyone gets what is coming to them.

Did you lose someone in the 9/11?
Were you or anyone close to you molested and raped when young?
Did someone you knew die of cancer or AIDS?
Maybe you have, that is why you are such an angry man. So angry that you chose to conveniently blame God for all the calamities that had befallen you.
I'm truly sorry, dear, but God does exist. If He didn't, you wouldn't be here enjoying life, ogling at pretty girls, drinking and laughing with your friends. Count your blessings.

That explains why bad things happen to good people. In direct answer to your question, you must assume that God exists for a second. Then you have to agree that God allowed 9/11 to happen, he allows innocent people to be raped, and he allows people to die of cancer and AIDS. Now why would he? The same reason he lets everything happen. Everything must abide by the same laws of nature.

If the planes on 9/11 suddenly at the last second before hitting their targets instead lifted up thousands of feet to avoid the buildings, it wouldn't make any sense except that God did it. However, that would defy certain laws, like gravity and...Well it's common sense, airplanes don't move themselves.

People are raped because people make bad decisions. If people had God in their hearts, how likely would they be to rape people? Also, consider that to stop the rape from occurring, again, laws of nature would have to be defied to stop free will. God gave us free will. That means he allows us to do bad things as much as he allows us to do good things.

Innocent people can contract cancer, but the majority of the people who contracted AIDS was because of a poor choice-they couldn't just save sex for marriage. AIDS is spread because of poor choices. If that is the consequence of poor choices, well, then I'd rather not choose it, right? Did those people not have it coming? Now, back to cancer-if you assume God exists, you must also agree that God has allowed medical science to progress. That means that people who have died of diseases before can now be cured. God allows medical science to progress because of the persistent work of people in that field. It is a reward to mankind, if anything.

I noticed how you pointed out many negative things. Did you also know that over 6 billion people are living today because God is allowing them to live? You could have only typed this message if you had access to a computer and Internet. Isn't it true that God has allowed you that great privilege that many don't have? It should be safe to assume that you have food and shelter. God allows you to be blessed, as well. I think people should be focused on thanking God for even being alive, rather than trying to define God as someone who is obligated to save every single dying cancer patient, every terrorist victim and every amputee.

God has blessed us with life. Life is fragile. Use every day to your fullest. And finally, God allowing bad things to happen is not proof that he doesn't exist.

First, you aren't asking a question you are ranting, and it's God you undereducated idiot. The Christians call him God, because that's his name as well as his job description. Second, where do you live that they keep trying to convert you. I live in the Bible Belt I've dealt with it maybe five times in the decade I've lived here. Third there are instances of faith healing in most every religion, instances of interesting things happening to stop bad people, and instances of people changing for the good because of bad experiences.
Finally, it's all well and good to blame a higher power for something mankind started and can fix. People just don't want to take responsibility, so they blame it on, the fact that if there was a, God, and demand that he save them would save them.
I don't ask anyone to save me, my religion isn't about that divine intervention, it's about divine reverence and personal responsibility. And frankly, people that cry over spilled milk instead of getting a towel sicken me.

You're lost person. You sold yourself to Satan. But at least you need not drag others along with you.I admire atheist to some extend, because they're are still searching for something the unknown. If you continue to search for the truth. It will come to you slowly and surely. This world is not apermanent world.Whether I die of cancer or road accident it does'nt matter.I can't decide on that.So I leave to God to decide.
If yu rear a goat and don't eat it,wait for it to die.Don't you think that it will be waste.I think the goat may curse you.

He cured cancer 2000 years ago and He took away resentment also. But many have taken back resentment and it is killing them. The wages of resentment is death. The root of cancer is resentment in fact the root of all sickness and disease is resentment. People claim they are of this belief or that belief but they continue to get sick and die. This includes atheists also. But I see you have respect for God because you capitalized His Name. You resent Him for a loss in your past. Only He can take away your resentment. That anger that builds inside of you even as you read this. The root is resentment(ill will). Yet don't just listen to me, look it up(resentment) in webster's dictionary. Not even using the bible but a dictionary can change your life.

God sees things with an eternal perspective.
We do know that He is compassionate and will give strength, comfort and hope to those who seek Him in their pain.
Many have experienced this.
God the Son, Jesus Christ also suffered, and was the only one without sin who suffered.

Chill out, my friend. The Christians I know believe it is their job or calling to convert people/save people. That is just what they do! And as an Athiest, you must try to convince them that there is no God. See how well you complement each other? No really, you shouldn't let them get you so angry--just stand for what you believe and expect them to do the same.

I'm not christian and actually I'm catholic although I am highly UNreligious but if he were to save everyone, the world would be even more populated. I do see the point of the 2nd question but the others would only cause the world to be more populated as I said before.
