I'm a Christian and I'm against abortion, but I often wonder about the reason that Christians so adamantly oppose it. If you asked a Christian if they believe that the soul of an aborted child goes to heaven or hell, they would most likely say, "Well, heaven of course!" because they would say that it seems unjust of God to send a soul to hell before it had the opportunity to accept salvation. If this is the case, then isn't abortion a great service to the soul of the child by allowing them to bypass life and the possibility of hell and proceed directly to eternal bliss? What do you think? Serious answers only please.

Ok, this question was NOT intended to start a pro/anti abortion debate. I want answers concerning my question of ETERNITY as it relates to abortion, not reasons why abortion is right/wrong. Please don't use this question as an opportunity to spread propaganda. Just answer the question! Thank you.

To everyone who says that it would be wrong for the woman to commit murder, I agree. But doesn't Paul say that he wishes he could be condemned so that others could receive salvation (Romans 9:3)? Isn't that what the mother is doing? I don't really follow this logic, I'm just sorta playing Devil's advocate.

So obviously what you're asking is: "why would Christians be so against abortion, if it is really for the good of the child, they are automatically in heaven, they do not have to be subject to the temptations of this world, and all the evil it has to offer, not to mention having there be a chance that they would end up in hell"? If that is what you're asking, then I see the point you're trying to make, although I am a Christian as well, and am also against abortions. But I think that in most Christians way of looking at a situation like this, is that, although they, and myself as well, would probably agree that certainly heaven would be a far greater place for the child to be, than in this world, abortion is murder, which of coarse, goes against GOD, and the fact that there are other ways to deal with unwanted pregnancies. (adoption, or taking the baby to any one of those places that allow the mother, in a certain length of time to be able to drop their baby off and leave it, with no questions asked, like a police station, hospital, places like that, that would obviously care for the child until they could find a loving home to place it in.
I just think that the thought of ending a human life, as opposed to handling the situation a different way, I mean, I think that it would be worse for a Christian,(or other wise) to just say:"yes, go ahead and abort the baby, (kill it!) even though there is a better way, it will be so much better off in heaven"!
If Christians wasn't opposed to abortion, then they would be for it, and then it would be like saying that murder is ok, because murder is murder! And if that were the case, they might as well go on to say that every other sin is ok too! And remember, in GOD'S eyes, one sin is as bad as another!
And also, what kind of an example would a Christian be setting for the unsaved, if they believed that abortion was the right thing to do!?

The abortion question is in many ways separate from the heaven v hell question. Abortion is wrong because it is murder of the most innocent of humans. This is not my opinion, medical science has long since proven how early in pregnancy a heart beats, nerves are in place, and individuality is noticeable (by the way....these are all before the mom to be misses her first period). Innocence is why these babies are quickly in the hands of a merciful and saddened God.

Hi:
Babies who are aborted they go to heaven. Because:
1.They are loved by God since they are in the body of their mother.
2. They never sin.
3. Jesuschrist says that to get in the kingdom of God, its necessary to be like children.
4. Jesus also said that "the smallest one is the biggest one in heaven".
5. Jesus also said: Let the children come to me because of them is the kingdom of heaven.
6. Because Jesuschrist gave His life for all of us, even to those who were never born.
Acoording to the reflexion that you did about saying that in that case abortion is is a great service to the soul of a kid, let me ask you this question:
Didn't God said in His 10 Commandments You are not going to kill?
Isn't God the only one who has the right to give life and take it?
The aborted babies go to heaven just read the bible to find out, but sadly their moms condemned theirselves by assesinating their own son. Women say all the time "Is my body, I can do whatever I want with it, but they accidently forget that they are carrying inside their body another body that has life. They also say "Babies dont feel pain because they arent born yet, but have you ever seen an aborted baby face? They have a very painful face, they are yelling and crying for help. Women think they have the right to kill their babies, but babies are Gods creation!
Its in our hands to live a life that is good to Gods eyes or to live a life that is bad to Gods eyes.
Babies are innocent, they depend on their mother, how can a women who has aborted be different to any other murderer?
At least some murderers dont kill their own blood.
Abortion can NOT be good at all, because its killing, women condem theirselves, babies didnt have the opportunity to be born, women also can die during the practice of an abortion and guess were would they go after death?
Please dont think abortion can have benefits, remember that God is the only one who gives and takes away life, lets give the opportunity to those babies who cant defend their life, to live and be able to grow and take their own decisions. Just because they are so small doesnt mean that they are not loved by God!

The end doesn't justify the means. Murder for a good reason is still murder. The soul of the innocent child may very well go to heaven. The soul of his/her murderer may very well spend eternity in hell.

Christians are pretty sadistic in their thinking sometimes. Approximately 33% of the worlds population is Christian. Rather than say it is alright for a fetus to be aborted and have it go to straight to heaven, they want it to be born so it can more likely than not, live and die and then suffer in agony for the rest of eternity. Of course they care more about shoving their beliefs in peoples faces than they care to actually think about the rights of a woman who is raped, or may desperately need an abortion for health reasons.

That's like saying It would be doing us Christians a service if you came into our church on Sunday or Saturday, (which ever you worship on) and mowed us down with a machine gun.Why not, we'd be on our way to heaven?
The Bible tells us to defend the defenseless. Do you think it would be o.k. if Christians all over the world started murdering their children before they reach the age of accountability to keep them from going to hell.
Or why don't we just go ahead and kill our old folks, as long as their Christians? Send them on to heaven and thin the population at the same time?Surely you can't seriously believe this for one second.

Psalm 139. Each of us is handmade by God and we are a gift. Abortion not only kills babies, but hurts women physicaly and emotionaly. Of course those babies are in heaven but they never got a chance to experience life on earth, they never got a chance to be a gift to someone.

This is a question for lunatics. You have to accept the whole "reasoning" about heaven and hell, original sin, salvation, damnation and the power of gods.
None of it adds up to anything coherent.

The mother has committed murder. I know of a woman who has had at least ten abortions, a lot of women use it as a form of birth control.
It is a child not a choice.
It is the child's body not the mothers.
A growth does not have a heartbeat.
