People have been setting dates since way back and none of their faulse predictions have come to pass. Jesus said that only the Father knows. Yes we are getting very close to Jesus return and at a very fast rate, but I will never put dates on anything like that. I believe Jesus will return in this generation the way this world is going, but when I have no idea as I do nto know the day or hour, but the seasons. What do you think?

The New Testament writer of James believed the end was so close and all the prophecies fulfilled that he claimed he was living in the last HOUR. This was a inspired writer of Scripture, but modern men and women claim he was wrong and they are right. The belief that you can predict the season of his coming is what causes the Jehovah's witness to make false predictions.

I remember you had said many times you are ready to die, and that you want to leave this world. That you hate life. If the bible is true and if God is only one and that one is the bible God and since you want to leave this world so bad, and since you have said many times Jesus will return within 20 years, than I think you will live a very, very long life and will see at least three 20 years pass just so you will know you were wrong.

If I wanted to leave this life so bad, I think I would watch what I said. and did.

One Baptist preacher in 1979 was so convinced the world would end that July that he made his brags saying if he could not be wrong because God told him if he changed his mind and did not return that July then he would take the preacher home so he would not have to live in humiliation due to false prediction, 28 years have passed and the man is still alive and still reminded of his failed prediction.

And people ask if God has a sense of humor.

I believe, having read about and studied this very topic, that God has left the time unknown for a particular purpose. God did not inform the world that they had to believe in Him or die during the time of Noah because none but Noah were faithful. He knew that no one would genuinely love Him, but would only come aboard to save themselves from an earthly death. The same situation exists now, except that this time the entire world knows about the risk of sin and of the saving powers of Jesus Christ, and they are either aboard the new Ark or not. God will not tell us when He will judge the earth in fire so that people will not "hop aboard" just to save themselves. God only wants those who love and honor Him, not those looking out for themselves.

Matthew 24: 36-44
"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[f] but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
"Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

I think they don't have a clue nor can they ever truly know when Jesus will return

Matthew 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

Mark 13:33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

Mark 13:35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:

2Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Revelation 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

Revelation 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

Every generation thinks they MUST be the generation that gets to see Jesus come back.

Let's look at it with just a little faith - the signs aren't so signifigant - they probably aren't the signs. When they really ARE signs they will be huge and obvious.

Talk of war, fires, plagues, floods, earhtquakes - show me a year, JUST 1 year, when all of these weren't true?

I'm not saying he won't come back.
But saying things that are just false isn't right by God.
Infact, its bearing false witness to your neighbor.

example: "It's getting really close" -- compared to what?
"the time to his return is increasing at a fast rate" -- what is the rate? how are you measuring? If you aren't - then it's a lie

Have faith that he will return. It doesn't matter when it will occur. It really doesn't. Say it with me now, "It doesn't make a difference when he returns because the actual time of his return should have NO bearing upon my soul because I live a reightous life all the time."

I think they don't read their Bible. It's pretty clear...No one knows but God.

"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. Matt 24:36-37 NKJV

42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. Matt 24:42-44 NKJV

"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Mark 13:32-33

"But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Luke 21:34-36 NKJV

Jesus said no man knows the day or the hour when He will come back, so I think that the date setters are really arrogant, ignorant people to think that they are sooooooo special that God will tell them something His Own Son doesn't even know!!!!!

Can anyone ANYONE get a handle on the sheer breadth, depth, scope and grandeur of such pride and arrogance?

Who do these people think they are?

But don't hate them or yell at them or anything, instead, what about praying for them? It does work, you have no idea...

I think ur not gonna know until He actually returns and He'll probably return on the one day that someone on earth doesn't say "God's returning today" so, it could be awhile...if ur a Christian and in love w/Christ then don't worry about it cause u've got ur insurance...just keep striving to be more like Him. If ur not a Christian, then get ready, cause u don't wanna miss out and even tho it could be a while before Christ returns, u don't know when ur gonna die either...

It all revolves around Israel, specifically the temple. When that is rebuilt, we can make solid statements of the return of Christ. The temple in Jerusalem is the sign.
