Brought here by my parents at the age of 8 on a tourist visa. Was told that we are going on a vacation to Florida(Disneyland etc.). once there, I learned the truth that we are staying here. I grew up in this country, and I barely remember my country(Poland). I know perfect english, have a 4.0 GPA and stay out of trouble. I would not leave this country for any money in the world, as I love it and apreciate it. My parents are to blame I know, but they told me that we would have no opportunities in Poland because there are no jobs left and the economy is horrible. We would either come here like this or be homeless. This was the last option and they took it. Of course once here, they started paying taxes in the first month, bought health insurance etc. It is only getting worse in my country, despite what the media tells you, despite what you may have heard. My parents had no other choice. I understand that you may think that they are criminals, but am I as well?

If I could be here legally, I would do anything. But if I go home, I would be banned for 10 years and starve to death.

Parents always do the best for their children, specially our parents that are inmigrants, I wouldn't pay no attention to anybody calling my parents criminals or soever cause think about it this society has more corruption than any one and plus the moral codes here are far from good compare to our countries, so do not worry about they way they feel, and stop calling yourself a criminal cause you are not, and I wouldn't blame my parents neither. wish you luck and even thou I feel sad about the reform, I will never lose my faith.

I consider you a ****. You give too many one liner responses and don't justify your thoughts enough to allow people to see your reasoning (strangely enough this post has more than one line.. oh wait.. that's because you're trying to get the sympathy vote.. okay I understand now) and thus open yourself up to snarky comments and insults.

Whether or not I consider you a criminal depends on which side of 18 you are. If you are still under, you're a child and therefore it's your parents fault. If you're over then you can take responsibility for your own actions and you are deliberately staying in a country to which you have to right to be in and flaunting the law. As a result you should be going back to Poland (either that or the EU since Poland are in the EU now) and returning legally.

It looks like you don't want understanding. You want a sympathy vote from all those legal and able to vote for your so-called dream act.

BTW I hear that your 4.0 GPA isn't going to help you get into college since you're an illegal immigrant. Have fun with that.

You are not a criminal by choice, but you are here illegally.

Your parents broke laws getting you and then here.

If they were illegal unfortunately you should be considered illegal as well.

You can still return to your home country and get in line like the thousands of others doing it that way.

Is there any reason that you think you and the illegal immigrants are more important than all those doing things the right way.

NIce bleeding heart story, but I've heard a million of those.

If you are so concerned about America you should be concerned about the 12-15 million illegals in "your" country.

If you are a Polish citizen, then you are a EU member. You can go to any EU country and live and work.I am a American who lives part-time in Hungary,I know things can be tough but there are jobs here and alot of young people get roomates just like in the states. I feel bad for you but you speak English and you really can have a good life in Europe. .....my dad was born in Poland..Also they do have a green card lottery over here in Europe, you could try that and go back to the states legally. It really isn't that bad over here anymore...

I do no consider you a criminal since it wasn't by your choice. Technically you'd be an illegal immigrant, being that your status here is illegal, but as far as anybody I know is concerned, the worry isn't that people are comming to the US... it's the effects it has on us. The problem comes when they aren't doing the things you have listed like paying taxes, keeping a job, staying off of welfare, and taking care of the their own healthcare costs, and staying out of trouble. I'd say do what you can to become a citizen as soon as possible, and remember; America was built on freedom and immigration, if you're doing what a true citizen should, I've got nothing agianst you or your family.

Yes, you are a member of a criminal conspiracy (the other conspirators are your parents and siblings, if any).

You say that your parents pay taxes, how did they get Social Security numbers? Make them up or buy them?

My ancestors came from Europe too! Lithuania just prior to World War Two! They followed the laws of their adopted country and did it the right way (they might be guilty of violations in pre WWII Lithuania (breathing while Jewish for one) ... but they did immigrate legally (no bought or made up SSN's here, citizens one and all, and damn proud of it!)).

So you think things are bad in Poland now? Try Lithuania just before WWII ... as a JEW! And yet my people did it the right way, and yours overstayed tourist visas ... you want my PITY? You want MY UNDERSTANDING?

FAT CHANCE! Even after their escape my grandparents were good little Lutheran immigrants, they feared letting anyone know they were Jewish! This little fact went unknown until many years after their death!

You know nothing of suffering! You know NOTHING of commitment! You are no better than a Mexican who swims the Rio Grande! May you be deported soon!

The bottom line is that you and your parents are in this country illegally . There is, however, a way you can fix that. First of all, since you were a minor at the time, It was your parent's fault. All you need to do is go through the naturalization process and become a true U.S. citizen. And no, you are not the criminal in this situation.

Unfortunately you will not get any kind of remorse or sympathy from any of these people. They do not see the repercussions of returning home, and trying to do things legally. My family came from Mexico many years ago, and they have nothing to return to. No one understands how it feels to be on this side of the debate. I do not think you are a criminal there are far worse things that I see going on, that nothing is being done about. My niece can get molested and her attacker can walk free. I know how it feels to think that people see you as a criminal, and someone they despise.

Legally speaking, yes. Mostly since you are now an adult and still remain in the country. But there is a difference between legality (human law) and morality (God's law).

I would argue that God made land and then made humans, then He gave the land to the humans. And that is any currently accepted religion (meaning mainstream--like Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, etc.); God always gives the land to all humans as a gift for them from which to live. How can we say to some of those humans that they can't have the gift God gave to them solely because they weren't born between the arbritrary lines we call borders.

You are my brother; the Hispanics that are the current target, Blacks as the former target, women who are often still held down and given even less consideration than many other minority groups, homosexuals, political opposites, white males who have suffered now for what there predecessors have done to the other groups--all of these are my brothers and sisters. I am their brother as well. We must quit trying to crush others for our own gain. When we help each of these up, they can in turn help us up; rather than trying to hold all of these down out of fear they will take all.

When we work together, we will always be able to create more for everyone to have some; rather than the select few. That is the true teaching of God's word, no matter which version of the word you go with (Old or New Testament, the Torah, the Talmud, the Qu'ran, the Amida Sutra, etc.).

I know some folks who have left the US to work in Poland. If you're a good citizen, then you'll do fine in your motherland. As for breaking the law, that is what determines you're a criminal. It sounds like you want to stay in the US. Do you want to be a citizen? If so, do the right thing.
