Hitler believed in the Christian God. Mahatma Ghandi did not. Does that mean Hitler is in heaven and Ghandi is in hell? If you believe everyone who does not believe in the Christian God is going to hell, at least I'll be in the company of Mahatma ghandi, John Lennon, Albert Einstein, Abraham Lincoln....remind me again why I would want to go to heaven?

cogito: I disagree with that philosophy too, but this is what I've been hearing time and time again from Christians, that no matter how good of a person you are, you can't go to heaven without believing in God, however a Christian needs only to repent and it doesn't matter what they do

God works in mysterious ways... it is not for any of us to say for sure who goes to hell and who does not. I would like to think Ghandi has earned his way into heaven. And I very much doubt Hitler has made it there.

If I kill someone in the name of God, it is still a murder that I will be judged for. Our sins are only absolved when we repent. I don't think Hitler ever repented for murdering 6 million Jews. Now, I'm no one to say, but I very much believe that he's down in hell getting what he deserves.

Don't assume everything is black and white in God's eyes. It might be. We don't know. I like to believe that He understands and takes care of things a lot better than we know.

Ya know, I'm bored so I'm gonna answer this question. First off, nobody but God knows whether Hitler was actually a Christian. He could have professed that faith to the world, yet never taken the time to accept Christ as his Lord and personal Savior. Second, I don't know if its once saved always saved. My english teacher made a very strong argument for the opposite, because you cannot serve two gods, meaning if ur living a life of lust, contempt, or hatred, then ur probably not in love with Jesus. Finally, While the men you listed set a wonderful example while on earth, you won't notice their company while your begging for relief from the turmoils of Hell. I won't say burning fire or anything like that, because I honestly don't know what Hell is like. I do know that in the Bible, God describes it as basically pure, eternal torture, and I'd rather not take my chances with that. You know, when it comes to believing that the Jesus is the one and only way to Heaven, I've done my research and this is the only religion where the other option is something as terrible as Hell...so I'll take my chances w/ Jesus being wrong...even though I know He's not.

Just because Hitler supposedly believed in the Christian God, does not mean that He is a true christian. Anyone can claim to be a christian, or can really believe in God/Jesus. Even satan believes in God/Jesus and trembles. You need to be born again in the Spirit in order to go to heaven. Read in Luke, the conversation Jesus had with Nicodemus on being born again. To want to avoid Heaven in case certain people that you admired may not be there is nonsensical. Only God/Jesus knows our hearts and judges us when we die. Not like anyone who ends up in the lake of eternal fire will be having a good time socializing in their misery. Read Revelation to get an eye opener on heaven and hell. God bless

Hitler did not believe in the Christian God, if he did, he would not have done the terrible things he did to the Jews, God's chosen people.

The reason that you want to go to Heaven, is to avoid the eternal lake of fire, where a person is tormented and ashamed forever because they have rejected God's presence. They believed a lie and loved thier sin more than the truth.

I think you will find that to believe in Christ is defined as to follow him, or take up your cross and follow him..
This is something that Hitler obviously did not do..
There are some in your list that might have been believers, so you can't be sure of the company you will keep in hell. But you can be assured that Hitler will be your buddy there.

A saved person would never do what Hitler did.

My sister once said, "If God doesn't take my family to Heaven, then I will be mad at God!!"
What a scary thing to hear.

We have to remember that God's judgment is right and we have no right to debate that.

After all the hell that Satan has caused on earth, what if God forgave Satan in the end?
Isn't that funny to imagine that Satan went to Heaven and a lot of humans went to Hell?

All I know is, if I have to be the janitor in Heaven, I will accept it with gratitude.

You don't know if Hitler went to Heaven, you merely said he believed in the Christian God. A lot of humans claim to be Christians and they are not.
The Bible says that in the day of judgment, some people will say that they believed in Jesus and the response will be: Get away from me, I never knew you!!!

I'm afraid it is time for me to inform you that "Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, unless it is "through" Jesus."

Once saved always said is Not a Biblical teaching. Salvation can be lost. Perfect example is that of Judas. We have to assume that he was " Saved " at one time, but lost out in the end. The Scribes & Pharisees had the opportunity to display their Faith in Jesus, but by their actions, they too it would seem lost out as well. Jesus said that if one sinned against the Holy Spirit, there is No forgiveness of sins left. Therefore once saved Always saved is not True. As for Ghandi & Hitler etc, who knows?

Hell is a metaphor for seperation from God.

there are 622 Laws of Moses

there are 10 Commandments

There are 3 Requirements.

Do justly----do the right thing
Love mercy---be forgiving, especially when you have the upper hand.
And walk humbly with your God
(that's the tough one. You are not all that. you are the center of your universe, but not the center of THE universe)
Micah 6:8
May the Lord bless you.

oh, you want to go to Heaven for the climate, the company, and to finally know what's going on.

'When I left Springfield I asked the people to pray for me. I was not a Christian. When I buried my son, the severest trial of my life, I was not a Christian. But when I went to Gettysburg and saw the graves of thousands of our soldiers, I then and there consecrated myself to Christ. Yes I do love Jesus."

What you just read is a direct quote straight from the lips of Abraham Lincoln. You will not be in his company if you fail to recieve Christs forgiveness for you sins before you die. I don't believe that anyone really believes that Hitler was a Christian. God bless!!

True salvation would not allow Hitler to do what he did. If Ghandi did not accept Jesus as his savior, he was not saved.

It is not possible for anyone to know who is going to hell. God can fix things in a nano second.
