Atheists claim to follow only logic and the evidence. But can one follow only the evidence and logically come to the conclusion that there is absolutely no possibility that God exists?

Even assuming that the currently popular theories of origins are completely correct (Darwinian Evolution coupled with the "Big Bang"), one has still not ruled out the possibility of God. While finding answers to many questions, science has seemingly created more questions than answers. If I had more space I would describe some of the qaundries, but as it pertains to the current question they really don't make a difference.

The most consistently logical and least assumptive conclusion is that God may or may not exist: Agnosticism.

If you disagree with my conclusion, then please describe in detail the evidence that you personally confirmed and tested that verifies with absolute certainty the non-existance of God.

Both theism and atheism are based in assumptions accepted by faith.

While comparing God to "the flying spegetti monster" or Thor may get some laughs, those examples do not make a valid comparison to the basis of Christian claims:

1) Jesus claimed to be God in the flesh.
2) Witnesses say that Jesus did things that had no natural explaination. (Lazzarus raised from the dead, walking on water, turning water into wine, etc)
3) Those who closely witnessed his life, death and ressurrection were tortured and later put to death for not recanting.

I'm not sure about you, but if I actually knew that something was all just imaginary, a hoax, why would I die for it? Why wouldn't I recant to save my life? It is one thing to say that Jesus was a lunatic, but what of those who claim to have seen him after he rose from the dead... why did they die rather than take that back?

On the other hand, I doubt anyone would die rather than recant thier witness of a "flying spegetti monster"

All of creation screams of God. God does exist!

True. What is the evidence FOR God? The persistence of the belief and the words of spiritual masters of various traditions. They do seem to have an other-worldly or transcendent wisdom. What is the evidence AGAINST God? Suffering. There is no acceptable answer for the combination of a "Good" God and the level of suffering of this world. I have heard all the arguments and rationalizations and the are totally empty.
Personally, I believe in God but not because of logic but because of instinct. However I agree that agnosticism is probably the most rational view. I am not a rationalist though, I am an intuitionalist if there is such a thing.

Depends. Which god are you talking about?

If you're talking about a specific god in which logical inconsistencies can be pointed out, thus demonstrating such a being could not exist, then you can prove it.

If you are talking about the vague, undefined, "I kinda believe in some force out there" god, then no.

In most cases, it is simply that the god described is so highly unlikely to exist that believing in it is no more rational than believing in the Tooth Fairy.

Every atheist knows they cannot make that statement because logically there is no proof of that. However, not all atheists choose to be an athiest because of the proof or non proof of God. Some even admit there could be, but they denounce the part of having anything to do with him even if he does. Some think he is an egotistical muderer whom they would never bow to, thus thier believe in an everloving deity and not God is the reason for their atheism.

i disagree. the evidence is within creation itself. the answer within us all. when atheist ramble about no god but that is foolish. they talk about self accountability but have none. they speak of some evolutionary explanation of why we are here but it never pans out. anyone that will look at the craft that is within and without himself and discount creation is a fool. the known world is full of detail. there was and is a creative power behind creation that had something in mind no matter how you may explain life on earth. the proof i have is something you'll never see but is right under your nose. the only explanation is that you refuse to see. atheism is destructive and promotes chaos. it will never go anywhere and never do anything. it will never give hope or expand thought as far as a vision of happiness because what ever it feels that is what it is... we are all free to believe as we want even if it is a void...

It is funny when men claim "There is no God" yet they strive to be a god themselves. And to me, science is only interested in discovering the known. But even the unknown must be understood. We all know its there, yet we refuse to acknowledge things in that area. Example: Some say ghosts are dillusions. Some disagree.

false assumption. totaly wrong!!!!

If God doesn't exist, we'll never live again, we'll never breathe till now. You know what? Your life is only by the grace of God..It's too long to tell you about my pass without Him dwell in me, He just wath me from far. but i'm licy because he still want me to come back and i'll never try again too get myself far from Him.

God is exist, there's no doubt...
Maybe you can't see Him with your both eyes, but you have feeling to kbnowing that He is exist, God is like a Wind...Can you see wind? But i'm sure you know that the wind is real. Can you see the sahape of electricity? i'm sure you don't but you believe that electricity is real. If you don't believe in electricity, you'll not torn on your computer and go to Yahoo answer like this...

Are you believe in Him? If you are, don't believe in God by sight, but by faith....

May God bless You

Neither... to be completely honest, we are all agnostics because no one can know for absolutely sure whether or not god exists.

BUT because there is such a lack of proof supporting his existence, I stick with atheism because I just don't want to waste my time any more.

Atheists aren't certain there is a god, we just don't believe one exists. To us its like the existence of a pink invisible unicorn. Can you prove that it doesn't exist? Nope, but so far, no evidence has been collected to prove such a thing exists, just like god.

Having no evidence to ones existence tends to show one does not exist. If an almighty God wanted us to believe in him, why would he not provide any evidence at all? What about Thor??? Can you really say He does not exist??

It's called the witness of the Holy Spirit. Those of us who have prayed for and received that witness KNOW that God exists and that Christ is the Son of God who came here and suffered for all the sins of the world. There is no greater proof in my opinion!!!
