Get your cat some organic catnip. That always helps cheer up my Willow And Lisa.
If you only have the one cat get another from a shelter. Cats won't admit it but they like to have another cat around. My last cat Hiri was moping around when she was the only kitty. Then I got Willow (8 month old holy terror) and even though they never really got along Hiri cheered up and stayed more happy and active for the rest of her life. When she dropped the bod (age 18) Willow prowled the house looking for her. I waited a while and got Lisa, an older cat (10) who looks a lot like Hiri Willow (now 3) wasn't fooled but they are both very happy and active.

My suggestion is you need to take your cat to the vet for a check up. Cats get depressed because they are not feeling well. Don't wait. If your cat hides in a closet away from everyone, that is a sign that the cat has internal problems and may die.

I have found a nice can of tuna will relieve boredom...it is usually lack of something to do that can cause a cat to get depressed..get him or her a Friend..maybe he/she is lonely. If he is locked inside all day, he may need a little recreation, try teaching him/her to walk on a lease...a walk would do you both good. New toys usually don't work but you could try getting some with catnip in them...Get one of those lava lamps..get a fish tank so he can at least have some fish to look at...

Oh please. It's a cat. Cats cannot have problems like that unless the cat is fearful of things like humans. That would be a problem.
But I have never in all my years heard of a "cat suicide."

Yeah, usually they just walk in front of a car...

If you are against feline suicide, you could take it to someone with a large pet python, or "donate" it to certain restaurants that specialize in "exotic" meats.
