Gotta/gonna quit smoking. Just started Chantix a few days ago. Big graduation party tomorrow. Is it safe to have like 4 or 5 beers during the party if taking Chantix or? Anybody out there on this who can tell me?

While I thank you for your answer, I don't want phone support. Drug companies will tell you anything. I was looking for actual answers from people that are using it, if they have done it and what, if any, effects.

I don't remember if it said not to drink while you were on it but I tried to have a beer maybe 3 days into mine and for some reason it tasted HORRIBLE. I thought it was just bad beer and tried again a couple of nights later - still tasted funny. It was probably a month or so after I started taking the Chantix that beer/wine started to taste normal. The good news is September 8 I will be completely smoke free for one year so it does work! Good luck!

Call the company (Phizer) 1-877-242-6849 and ask them After continuing in English, press 2 if you want to talk to a live person.
I'm surprised you didn't sign up for their phone support group or their internet support group. I did and I feel it does help.
