Hi! I have found this picture of Miguel Hidaldo and was wondering if anyone new who painted it and when. It shows Miguel in all black except for a brightly colored sash. There is a large tabel and chair behind him, a grandfather clock and a picture in the backround. The floor is tiled and there is a tabel cloth and books on the tabel.. This pretty much describes it..If any one as ANY info please let me know!! Thanks!! JH

While it was easy to find the picture you mentioned, whichyou described very well, nowwhere - but nowwhere - is there any info as to who painted it, or where it is located. There are quite a few famous portraits of him (and some statues}. The most famous being the mural of an "angry Miguel Hidalgo" by Jose Clemente Orozco on the ceiling of the Government Palace at Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. I am afraid my search/research has come to a dead end. .

I've searched forever and logged a zillion images but not the one you cite. Can you offer a point of reference for viewing it?
