My cats do the exact same thing...but don't worry. Cats are very intelligent and can sense if the water is dangerous to drink.

Cats do drink water each animal beverages water to stick healthful the object with cats is that they've an overly low thirst indicator of their bodys a few of them are not able to inform once they must drink that's why you must feed your cat delicate meals as good as dry meals when you consider that the canned delicate meals has a prime water content material which provides water to cats that don't drink a lot water milk isn't well for cats despite the fact that you'll be able to through designated cat milk at walmart

well cats and dogs just do exactly the same thing sometimes, let her do what she wants 'cuz cats ain't like human
but if she has any health problems with drinking dirty water, you might have to lock her somewhere in a room and give her milk or fresh clean water only, untill she gets better.

My cat does the same thing, from the toilet and the water on the patio after the sprinklers run, but she still will drink from her bowl. Cat's have a wild instinct and making the best of everything in her environment.

Cats like water that is fresh, and aerated. Rainwater sometimes seems more appealing to them, compared with water that's been sitting in a bowl. (Ever notice that 'flat' taste in a glass of water that was left out overnight?)
If you replace your kitty's water in her bowl more often, she might be more likely to stick with that. It will really help keep her healthy, and pampered too, if you change it a few times a day.

Eck! I don't know why she does that, but please don't let her! Cats can't really sense dangerous stuff in water, so keep her away from the rain water! Water can harbor bacteria that can give your cat awful internal diseases!

when given a choice, my cats ignore tapwater, drink bottled springwater right after i put it in their bowl, and totally love their pet water fountain, that circulates and aerates the water. they are indoor cats, so they never tasted rainwater.
