Only The Lord knows our hearts, but a true christian has an intimate relationship with Jesus and desires to obey and follow Him. Also, is a changed person, born again in the Spirit. To casually continue sinning is not being renewed by The Lord and is only a christian in name only, wearing the christian label. We are known by our fruits. Doesn't mean that a true christian will never sin, (we are not perfect), but that we avoid sinning thru the conviction of the Holy Spirit that indwells us. We don't live our lives deliberately sinning. We still need God's Word and strength to ward off temptations that come our way. There is a difference between a true christian and a nominal, or professing christian. God bless

I believe that if a person claims to be a Christian but still wallows in sin, they are not Christian except in the most worldly sense...i.e. they belong to a Christian church and follow at least some of the practices of a specific religion. A true Christian or follower of God will live what they believe.
It is written that faith without works is dead...but I think that works without faith is also dead. The personal relationship with God is the key.

The bigger question is, why is that Christian wallowing in sin? If they are doing that, then maybe they are not a Christian to begin with, since that term means to be Christ like. They would be claiming to be something that they are not acting like.
We all sin, yes , but you said "wallowing" in it. So don't take that the wrong way.

It really doesn't matter what I or anyone else believes. It is really between that person and God.
Besides, I really haven't time to worry about someone else wallowing in sin.
I'm too busy trying to clean the mud from my feet from the last wallow I got stuck in.
But you tell that wallower that Deborah is praying for them!!

Romans 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid!
1John 3:4 Everyone who is a sinner goes against the law, for sin is going against the law.
1John 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
Hebrews 6: 4 As for those who at one time saw the light, tasting the good things from heaven, and having their part in the Holy Spirit, 5 With knowledge of the good word of God, and of the powers of the coming time, 6 And then let themselves be turned away, it is not possible for their hearts to be made new a second time; because they themselves put the Son of God on the cross again, openly shaming him. (BBE)
This is more clearly worded in the KJV:
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
I would say, according to God's Word, that they are not saved.

Well, thet could have taken jesus into their hearts and thus been saved, but if they are acting that way, I doubt they have much jesus in their hearts.
One school of thought says - once saved, always saved. The other says you get saved, but hen you have to work at being a good christian.
I tend to say you r actions count more than your words -you can scream you're a christian at the top of your lungs, but if you act the opposite, then you aren't really a christian.

No matter how many times you sin, God will always forgive if you are truly sorry and willing to do penance to make up for your sins. When you "wallow" in sin, it is called despair. A virtue that can fight off this despair is hope. You must always be hopeful that God will save you, and He always will.

As the Prodigal Son did,he got out of that pig pen and the pigs didn't.The saved always come back to God no matter how bad they get and the unsaved stay in the pen and wallow. It may take days ,it may take years. It may get so bad God will ,as Paul says in I Corinthians,"destroy the body to save the soul".

We all sin, and I am a christian. But you have to repent for thoes sins and mean it and turn from it. But if you go out getting drunk all the time and rob a bank and die without repenting weather you are a christian or not you go to hell. The bible says without Holiness nobody will see the Lord .

Really the only one that can answer that for you for each individual, is God . But we do know , what the bible says , that "you shall know them by the fruit they bear"and also" If you love me, keep my commandments"
I believe ,a person can very well loose their salvation by staying in sin, once you meet Jesus, a change has to take place, or else you might have only given "lip-service "when you confessed the Lord.
God looks into the heart , He knows who is His or not.
