*Is Catholic*
If you are not ready for confirmation then it is recommended that it be postponed. HOWEVER you should talk with your priest to see if your fears really are indications of not being ready rather than just normal scruples.
Confirmation is not an oath to make you stay with the religion. That would be Baptism. Confirmation properly speaking binds you to the specific Rite of the Church. It is possible to switch Rites but it is very difficult.
The problem with becoming Catholic, and one becomes Catholic by Baptism, is that it cannot be undone. One become for all time a child of God. You may choose to reject your heritage as a child of God, but forever will it be said that you are a child of God. THIS IS EXACTLY the same as saying that by your birth from your mother you are forever her child and you are forever a human.
Again it is recommenced that you postpone confirmation if you are not ready to take on the responsibilities of an adult Catholic. However not feeling like you are ready or being unsure does not amount to actually not being ready.
TALK WITH YOUR PRIEST!!! AND YOUR PARENTS!!!
God bless you!

Confirmation does not involve any "oath" to remain in the Church. However it does provide an outpouring of grace that may help you decide what is right. In any case, yes, you can postpone Confirmation until a later time if you do not feel the time is right. I teach classes (RCIA) for adults who are making their Confirmation because they did not make it when younger, for a variety of reasons.

The only one we have to answer to is God, and not no man on this earth. If you're not ready to confirm, then postpone it, and explore the options that are open to you, and to all. I just hope it is within Christianity. Then again, if you're underage, and your family wants your confirmation, there's probably not much you can do.

yes, you are. talk to your priest about it. but if you don't think you're ready then don't do it. this is you standing up and saying this is what you truly believe, if you're not sure what you believe, find out before making your confirmation. i'll say some prayers for you :)
peace and God bless

Yes, talk to your priest and explain your feelings, don't let them talk you out of waiting.
You must do what is right for you, God doesn't want your committment unless you mean it. He wants you to truly want to follow him.

Yes, you don't have to go through conformation right away. You can wait until you're ready.
