Please don't answer this question by using a different part of the bible. I'm not asking about a different part of the bible. I'm asking about the 10 commandments.

More importantly, why is it almost never mentioned in Scripture? There is more in the Bible about washing you hands than there is about homosexuality. Strange when you consider that homosexuality was more prevalent in ancient culture than it is today.

The "10 Commandments" are only the first listed of 614 laws that God gave to Moses all at the same time on Mount Sinai. The laws against homosexuality are included among the 604 other laws.

Why did it not make the top 10? Look at the ones that did make it...
Idolatry, swearing, disrespect, adultery, murder, theft, lying, covetousnesses, etc. all sins that are committed by most if not all people. So everyone needs to be reminded about the issues with them regularly.

Homosexuality is a sin that is practiced by between 2% and 10% of people. 90% of people have no need to be told not to do it. So why waste their time by putting it in the top 10?

The only reason it has been getting as much attention the last few years is because the homosexuals keep forcing the issue by demanded that their sin be legalized and accepted by society. Whenever any evil attempts to force its way into society, Christians are obligated to stand against it. At this time, homosexuality is the one demanding the most attention.

Because when the scripture as such were written the concept as thought of here in the west did not exist. But that does by no means mean it did not exist because it did. Homosexuality is not evil what is evil is the all to often self rightous condemnitory attitudes of the people who say "love the homosexual sinner but hate the sin."

Wow!! I've been a narrow minded bigot studying the Bible for 25 years and I never noticed that!!
Next thing you'll tell us is that you've kept the 10 Commandments completely, so you're a Pefect Homosexual!!
I really need to update my thinking. Did Jesus bless that in the Beatitudes?
You are walking on rotten boards across the opening to the pit of hell, and the flames are licking at the boards, and they are creaking and smoking and nowhere in the Bible are you promised tommorrow.......G'nite :)

It is in one of the Ten Commandments. It falls into the definition of the sixth Commandment. Thou shalt not commit Adultry. When God instituted marriage, He said that the man shall cleave to his wife, and they shall be like one. Many people entertain impure thoughts, picture indecent acts in their imagination and play with secret sins. Impurtity of the heart and life leads to a poisoned soul, an accusing con-science, public shame, dreadful disease and an untimely death. It means husband and wife=Man and Women. It also says, that any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy. You are wrong when you tell that this subject does not fall into the catagory of the Commandments. It is writtten in the SIxth Commandment.

Because the 10 commandments are not the only laws given in the OT. Do you think it condones rape, child molesting, computer crimes, car jacking, vandalism, swearing (all not in the 10 commandments)

All sin is equally offensive to God, so it doesn't matter which gender you are engaging in premarital sex with. Homosexuality is no worse than lying, stealing etc.

Whether it's in the 10 Commandments is a moot point. The truth that the sin of Sodom is wrong is stated throughout both the Old and New Testament.

You say " if it's so evil" why would you say it isn't. It's sin, it's nasty. Are you one? Is that why you are trying to justify it? Satan is really using you. Be praying for you.

How would we know? We didn't write the Bible. Why don't you pray and ask the Lord! It's in the Bible and that's all that matters.

Yeah, it should be. I mean, that is one of the parts of the bible referenced to the most. It's far, far worse than making false idols but that is a commandment....Religion, it just doesn't make sense.

You are definitely wrong and I have the need to burst your bubble and rain on your parade. "Thou shalt not commit adultery." Adultery is a SEXUAL SIN. Homosexuality, fornication, sex with animals, lust for another, ALL are SEXUAL SINS.
Do not mock God by condemning His Laws. Conseqences for severe sins is a punishment no one wants to go through. My advice to you is don't take God in vain.
