what prescription is this? i got it when i had mono?

i took it for either one or two weeks. i started the dosing with taking it 3 or 4 times a day and then down to just once a day during the end. i think it might have been amoxicillin, but i'm not sure. any drs know which med was prescribed to me? just out of curiosity.

It was probably a steroid, with a step down at the end of the docing. It is used for complications of mono. Look at the 'steroid' section of the article below:

mono is a viral infection so antibiotics like amoxicillin would not have been prescribed. Possibly you were given Prednisone in a tapering dose to decrease the inflammatory response and decrease the joint pain that so many that suffer with mono experience. It is easy enough to call the doctor's office that prescribed it and ask them to check your record and tell you what was actually ordered.

When i had it, I was prescribed tylenol 3 (with codeine) for pain with similar dosing. And then there was also some sort of steroid, but I don't remember the name of that.

Sounds more like Medrol, Prednisone or Prednisolone which are steroids.

amoxicillin is an antibiotic to kill most infections. there will be no side effects while taking this.
